It's inexcusable! He laid a hand on her...and it it was my daughter...I'd teach him a lesson!

Someone pointed out this whole thing could be the 4D chess in action. He just fired his AG and we're talking about Acosta as is the MSM.

Acosta is interviewed by the spin doctors at CNN.

He complains about Trump, saying he was only asking a question. CNN reporters say he was merely being "aggressive" in his job like they have done with Obama and Bush. Then he brings out the race card saying Trump was going after persons of color in the media. Says Trump was despondent over his big loss in the House of Representatives and that's why he berated Acosta. Says he was standing up for his rights.

CNN has no mention of Acosta losing his White House access or the fact he physically held onto the mike and pushed the young lady's arm anywhere on their page and a search of their site finds no mention of it. Guess it didn't happen? Would you guys care to guess what would be on their site if it was Trump who had pushed a young lady? The story might have been reported differently then. Twitter would be going crazy with Trump misogyny rhetoric. Instead, the battery gets crickets.

check your law degree
Watch the video. The President told him to stop. The young lady's job is to take the microphone and pass it to the next reporter. Acosta held onto the mike and then pushed her arm. That's battery. Check your law degree.

Quote:
Earlier Wednesday, Acosta had questioned Mr. Trump on his rhetoric on the caravan moving toward the U.S. border. Mr. Trump grew angry with Acosta and tried to move on to another question. A White House intern came to take Acosta's microphone, but Acosta moved away and said "pardon me, ma'am" and tried to continue questioning.
Uh, he also pushed her arm.

Quote:
The White House said it was suspending Acosta's "hard pass," which allows him press access to the White House, because it will "never tolerate a reporter placing his hands on a young woman just trying to do her job as a White House intern." But video recorded at the press briefing shows Acosta putting his arm on top of hers as she tried to take the microphone away from him. It appeared to be an accident since he said, "pardon me, ma'am" and moved away from her.
No, he pushed her arm. She then looked at Trump to see what he wanted her to do because Acosta was preventing her from doing her job. Cameras don't lie. You can see him push down hard on her arm.

Part of the definition of battery:

Quote:
The Act The act must result in one of two forms of contact. Causing any physical harm or injury to the victim—such as a cut, a burn, or a bullet wound—could constitute battery, but actual injury is not required. Even though there is no apparent bruise following harmful contact, the defendant can still be guilty of battery; occurrence of a physical illness subsequent to the contact may also be actionable. The second type of contact that may constitute battery causes no actual physical harm but is, instead, offensive or insulting to the victim. Examples include spitting in someone's face or offensively touching someone against his or her will.

The left (actual lawmakers, not just the media) has created a new standard with what they've done to Kavanaugh.

Based on that logic, Acosta should at a minimum lose his job.

I don't disagree that Acosta acted like a clown (as did President Trump) but give me a break with the assault non-sense. He was trying to keep the mic because he's a clown shoe. Nothing more, nothing less.

If you're going to suspend his credentials do it because he was disruptive and you're not going to tolerate it. Or don't even select him to answer a question, when he asks a question end the press conference without answering it.

Don't try to make it seem like the guy assaulted her, give me a break.

People on here bitch and moan about how "PC" the world has gotten, then go full snowflake and say the bottom of his hand touching her trying to block her from removing a microphone is assault.

Trump could have come down from the podium and punched Acosta in the face and some of the guys on here would have said it wasnt assault.

The bottom of Acosta's hand touches an intern though and he should be locked up for life!

Part of the definition of battery:
Elements
The following elements must be proven to establish a case for battery: (1) an act by a defendant; (2) an intent to cause harmful or offensive contact on the part of the defendant; and (3) harmful or offensive contact to the plaintiff.

even if she was "offended" #2 was not met, put your law degree back in the cereal box flyn

First things FIRST, tough guy. It's a Grand Prix, not a Bonneville. Say it with me now, Grand Prix...

(at least he didn't call it a Grand Am. True sacrilege).

These cars are nostoligic to many people. Lots of fans of the Pontiac Grand Prix on this very forum. People still have a soft spot for these cars. Hell, I just bought a second Turbo Grand Prix.

You also have me scratching my head... This forum is about cars, restoring cars, racing cars, cars as a hobby, etc. It's called Chicago Garage. So, I post what I'm doing with my car(s). WTF is your problem? Ask anyone on here that's doing what I'm doing; a truly Herculian effort is required to balance life and work and dad duties and car restoration. Not to mention documenting it all. There are bigger pieces of shit being restored on here. I have respect for all those guys doing all those builds. Trump lover/hater... whatevs. I am here for the car talk, that's priority. It takes a lot of dedication and a lot of moolah to get the job done. You're insulting us all by insulting the effort I'm putting in. You're a fucking loser dude, for real.

As far as my crowning achievement...This isn't Facebook where people shamelessly promote themselves and gloat with reckless abondon and try to convince others that they are cowboy, millionaire, astronauts. Again, it's a car forum about cars. I could post about all my great, hyuge, terrific achievements, but do you really wanna feel even worse about yourself?

(funny that his post got 2 likes. Bashing me for restoring a car on a website dedicated to cars, and AND he got the car wrong. Lolz)

I saw this posted somewhere else on here:
#makeTCGaboutcarsagain.

Btw, Jon01, PLEASE do post about your car project.

Yeah... what car he has, has little to do with his stance on this stuff.

I don't want to be grouped in with this leftist goon because we both own 3800s

Thatís never a good thing to have one group with so much power/influence. Too little discussions, just do what they want without a care in the world. Like a regime or dictatorship.

I just want the constitution upheld as it was intended. It has seemed over the last decade or so, liberal judges have been on a mission to disregard the constitution. If this wasn't the case, I'd agree...a 5-4 split would be more ideal.

In an ideal situation, the Supreme Court would never be thought of as a "group or side" with any power of influence....

There shouldn't be "liberal" Justices, or "conservative" Justices.

Exactly, I always find it very odd a judge on any level would have an (R), (D), whatever next to their names in an official capacity. I appreciate seeing judges that have no shown affiliation. Appreciate it even more when their actions show no affiliation either.

I want the affiliation of my judges to be the Constitution personally. Textualists who limit scope and power of governance. If the next nomination gets someone who kills off Chevron Deference I'll be happy. Make Congress work again and all that.

That said, it pretty much means I wouldn't be giving consideration to people like RBG. The constitution is not a living document, nor are the courts a method of legislation or making substantial alterations to the constitution although abused as such at times.
