New Snowden Leak Shows the Insane Amount of Money We Spend on Spying

nytebyte 08-30-2013 07:04 AM

It's a huge problem when the government spies on its own people.
I'm glad Snowden did what he did.

Flyn 08-30-2013 07:15 AM

Snowden peeled the onion back a few layers. Government keeps looking worse and worse as each layer is exposed to view.

OffshoreDrilling 08-30-2013 07:35 AM

is any of this really a surprise to anyone? It's nothing I wouldn't have suspected before it was leaked.

guspech750 08-30-2013 02:29 PM

What's funny is people would and still will call you crazy or stupid for thinking and saying the government spy's over us. I love the line when someone says, "well if you have nothing to hide. You have nothing to worry about". Totally not the point and while our government just tramples all over us. The nay Sayers think we are making this up.

What about communicating with al Qaeda?

Turbocharged400sbc 08-30-2013 06:11 PM

the problem i have is that there are just too many many fuckin "good ol'e boys" who would use connections to access data that can be used to their advantage.

they say that for every person that complains 8 more stay silent. its easy to figure that the insider trading/etc that we see is only the idiots that are getting caught....plenty get away scott free.

just too ripe for abuse, probably safer with skynet controlling/sifting through the data

There's a difference between suspecting and knowing. Knowing they can't bullshit us anymore. Now we as free citizens need to do something to stop them otherwise we'll no longer be free.

i was surprised so few people seemed to think this was going on? but maybe that is because i also read some more alternative news stories. although plenty of them go way too far. i work on some of the technology here though so that is also why i wasn't so surprised. what is interesting is to see what level they go to, what they do with it, some of the architecture and logistics of using it etc. are all pretty interesting.
