Default Who tunes turbo BMWs in the area?

I've started my search for a new summer daily driver and I'm prolly sticking w BMW since my E46 was a great car for the last 5 years. Im looking at 335i coupes and I'm definitely not leaving it stock. Who can tune it if I do an e85 fuel system?

what are you going to do for mods? a jb4 is plug and play and will take care of pretty much any bolt on/e85 tuning needs

Good call on the JB4, was gonna mention that....everyone always raves about it and the results typically seem awesome.

yup, super easy to install and controlled through the dash. unless the OP is doing a stupid crazy build the jb4 is the best bang for the buck tune for these.

There used to be multiple companies but now the majority of the market is cornered by Burger Motorsports. I would use them just on the basis that they provide continued support for their products, and they are also ridiculously cost effective.

The other company that comes to mind is Procede who's also been in the game awhile.

Anyone on here use one? It sounds like it has pre programmed tunes so you don't have to have a shop dyno tune it. How accurate is the tune gonna be? Does it self learn or something to each car and mods?

ah I gotcha. it doesn't take many mods for his c63 to run mid to low 11's but it does take a huge stack of cash to make it happen! good luck and the JB4 should be perfect for what your looking for.

I can always put one of my nitrous kits on it. I'm sure 50 shot on a turbo car would wake it up lol.

How are the clutches in these things? I destroyed the clutch in my E46 once I put sticky 275s on the back and it hooked.

I'd say look into a JB4 piggyback and MHD backend flash. That seems to be the best package for flex fuel cars. If you are running straight e85 you may want to look into a couple of fueling modifications although I will say a full bolt on car, stock turbo's, e85/93 mix, jb4+backend flash is a great combination that won't break the bank. If you are looking at doing upgraded turbo's, then I'd say look into fueling mods. If the turbo's remain stock, then you really don't need to run higher ethanol and have a fueling system in place.

You think I can run a mix of e85 and 93 and use stock injectors and pump?

Yes, I have before. You don't need to touch the fuel system if you're running a modest mix of e85/93

Janky for a high torque car, plus you'll be bleeding boost between the shifts unless you're beating the piss out of it. Go with the sport auto. You will not regret it.

I only want manual trans cars. auto is not the same. My manual valvebody auto in the Camaro isn't even fun and you have to shift that. Its just not the same. If I have to I will put upgraded hydraulics in it and a performance clutch. I want to be able to powershift it and not have any worries. The car will get street raced and I wont be gentle on the shifts lol.

Since you want to go with stick get the JB4 and the add on 2step and NLS modules. I believe [email protected] has been working on a rolling antilag even. I've used the NLS and 2step before on my old 135i 6mt and it works awesome. You won't hit vacuum between the shifts when you NLS.

Sounds like the JB4 is the only way to go. I'm getting excited. Now time to start the search for a blue RWD coupe! This is the color I want. seems hard to find.

Just for shits and giggles go drive a sport auto car. I felt the same way until I swapped my manual 550i for a sport auto 535i. The SAT transmission is faster in every way, blips the throttle on downshifts, shifts lightning fast, allows you to bounce the engine off the rev limiter if you want and and it's faster too.

I know a lot of people love manual transmissions because they want to feel engaged in the driving experience. If that's you, I get it. Just understand that to be as fast as a slush box you're going to need to beat the snot out of the car to keep boost up during shifts and you're going to go through clutches semi-regularly.

I mean, it's still going to be plenty fast and if you're not drag racing it doesn't much matter. For me the SAT was just so good that I felt like I got 90% of the enjoyment of a manual transmission with none of the sacrifices. But that's just me.
