Hit some random stuff today front squats, hack squat machine incline bench and flat bench, then some chest press machine I’ve never used before

I fucked up something in my lower back warming up for back squats today, I was just planning on staying at warm up weight for a few sets and being done, but I was probably pushing it having just done heavy front squats Saturday

Last Friday I put up 100# dumbbells on flat bench. It was only twice but it's been years since I got over 100. I'm pumped. I then skipped Saturday and ate like shit, FML. Back at it hard this week. I'm trying carb cycling.

My lower left side on my back is still semi fucked. Hooped for 1hr today, will go to gym tomorrow and do a light arm workout. Will probably keep everything pretty light all week to give my back a break.

I just tried 60s for the first time, did two sets of 10.

I could probably work up to 70s but getting the 60's up was tricky lol.

Thanks guys. I have been doing a ton of research on losing fat while lifting and it seems lifting heavy with a healthy mix of HIIT and steady state cardio is the best option. I feel like I'm finally getting my strength back.

I have been mostly concentrating on lifting over the last month, now I'm working on clean eating and following my macros. I'm hoping to see the scale move.

I'm a gym novice. Maybe someone can help me a little bit.

I'm about 6 foot and 210lbs. No gym what so ever in the last 10 years. I started going to gym twice a week about 5 months ago.

I bench press at first a total of 95lbs. Kept 3 sets of 12 slowly moving up a bit. I seem to be suck at 135lb, unable to do 3 sets of 12. I feel like I should be able to finish a set by now. I can do 155 about 5 times.

People at the gym are saying it's in my head but I dunno I just can't push it. Help this weakling please. I only bench on Mondays.

Focus on adding more weight and doing lower reps, high reps at lighter weight will come with the added strength, or take longer breaks between sets if sets of 12 is max effort then take 3-5 minute rest between sets to fully recover, personally Iíd hit a couple warm ups and do that 155x5 for 2-3 sets then work my way back down, feel free to do more than 3 sets Iím currently trying to build my bench as well, I usually hit 8-10 sets on flat a couple building warm ups 3-5 actual sets then I work back down to warm up weight with a few more sets

1Quick pretty much hit it on the head. If you can hit 155 5 times, then you should be able to hit 175lbs once (use a spotter). So I'm thinking you could hit 165lbs at least twice.

The key is consistency; don't be too concerned with how much weight you can push.
Lower weight, higher reps accomplishes toning, muscle growth as well.

Try Stronglifts 5x5?

5 sets of 5 instead of the longer sets...

Also if you stall try taking 5 or 10% off and going at it again. Plateus are sometimes hard to break.
