Any other big assed bike riders here?

I'm having a hell of a time getting a comfortable bike ride and mostly is cause the seats. Tried bigger seats, gel pads, etc.

Just did a 10 mile ride last night and the uncomfort is real. We do a 30 mile ride every year and I want to be prepped for this year.

Have you gone to a real bicycle store to get your ass fitted? You'd be surprised how comfortable you can be on a bike if you have a person that knows what they're doing to fit you. You could be sitting wrong, leaning too far, seat not high/low enough, same with handle bars, etc. It also takes 5-6 rides to break your butt into riding, you can't expect to just get on a bike, ride 10 miles and be comfortable.

thats probably half your problem, I started on a walmart special doing 17 mile rides 3x a week my hands and upper back would go numb seat would kill me as well, turns out the bike wasn't the right size for me, didnt know that was possible at the time, switching to a giant road bike also picked up 5mph average on my rides as well

I have had 2 Walmart bikes in last 2 years and returned both within a few months. I don’t ride enough to justify spending $400-$500 on a good bike, lol.

You can snag $1000+ bikes on CL for $300-$400 used, not a bad price. A nice bike might entice you to ride more too, cause they don't suck to ride.

I just put this one on my bike today, and it's a nice improvement over my old seat, but I need to do some longer rides to be sure I like it.. It also helps to play around with the angles and position.

I have something like that. Its comfy but doesnt fix the ass hurting as well as padded shorts.

get padded shorts and sit on the seat the right way, it'll fix your problems.

I bought padded shorts once, but they ended up being really cheap and the pad didn't line up with my ass. I guess that's what I get for going the cheap route.
