Eeehh, up 6-1 when they took him out, he's older, up around 100 pitches, no reason to get too crazy in an early August game, especially with a pitcher that has had his struggles this season. Get his confidence rolling early, and hopefully he can turn his season around and be the difference maker starter the Cubs needed in the rotation, that was lacking with Darvish out.

Holy Shit. Walk off grand slam by Bote. They were losing the game 3-0 in the ninth. Omg.

That walk off GS gave me chills! Spectacular finish and the reason why you watch a game until the end!

Awesome ending.
Bote has been great so far filling in for KB.
I though I heard he is like a 12th rd pick and spent 7 years in the minors.

Harper is one of those guys you hate because he is on the other team, but will love him if on your team. I think Baez is getting that reputation as well.

Nope! I do not want the Cubs to pursue him this offseason. I really think he's overrated and honestly he's had one great season when he won the MVP.

Hoping the Cubs go after Machado this winter...

Harper is one of those enigmas. He has the potential to be monstrous, and even in an "off season", like this year, he is still banging out HRs. Personally, I don't think he is worth the top contract of all time contract that it will take to sign him next year. I'd rather "suffer" through the rest of Jason Heyward's contract for a right fielder that has Gold glove defense and an average bat. I would support the Cubs spending the equivalent (or less) on young starting pitchers that are either already studs or potential studs.

I agree. Also, Harper is gonna want too much money. The Cubs need to sign and/or trade for better pitchers too.

If the starters the Cubs currently have could just pitch to their potential they'd be pretty awesome. Remember the beginning of the year everyone projected the Cubs to have the best starting rotation in all of baseball

Someone is gonna give Harper 400 million. Machado might get a bigger contract than Harper.

True story. If Darvish and Morrow come back healthy and pitch the way they are capable of then I donít see anyone in the NL beating the Cubs. Cubs have a bullpen like the Dodgers had last year. In the playoffs they can shut the game down after 6 innings.

Went to my first game of the season Saturday. It was my first time ever in a Diamond Suite. Just so happened to be Jim Thome HOF day. Guy is a class act and seeing highlights from the black out game was awesome. Bonus that Moncada put a ball on the moon. After that I walked around the park for a while. I didnít know they lost till I got the alert on my phone. I felt like a cubs fan but in a rebuild year who cares?

interesting....looks like the Cubs would give up one of their top prospects Andruw Monasterio, which is fine considering he's a middle infielder on a team that has a plethora of talent there already.

I don’t agree with trading really good prospects though.
