Never saw a thread for it i dunno

Out here at Big Sky MT, its amazing, largest ski area ive ever been too and there are tona of open trails from super easy to legit double blacks down the face of the mountain.

I've been to all the usual big spots in CO, but havent been to Park City.

I highly recommend it here!

Anyone else big into skiing or snowboarding? Where do you go and what skill level

I'll tackle up to the hardest blue, beyond that NOPE

Skier checking in. I am in love with Big Sky. I have taken a 5 day ski trip out there the past two winters. You getting any powder out there?

And I have a season pass at Alpine. I am usually up there 1-2 times a week. It was extra slushy the last two days. I am hoping we have one more weekend left.

Been skiing for almost 20 years, wife and I do a mixture of blues and blacks. I'll occasionally do a double black if conditions are right but not 100% comfortable on them. Now live out in CO and the wife and I go every weekend into the mountains. We have the Rocky Mountain Super Pass + which gives unlimited to Copper and Winter Park, and then some extra days at Steamboat and Crested Butte (which I would highly recommend)

We've skiied all over the United States including Vermont, and Utah resorts (park city is pretty good to the OP, but snowbasin is my favorite out there) but the best BY FAR that I've ever skied was in Vancouver at Whistler/Blackcomb. Unreal terrain and scenery. This year I heard they got zero snow though and it's been tough in the upper northwest.

Bucket list would still love to go to Jackson hole.

I love skiing too, been a while since Iā€™ve been out west.
Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Vail, Keystone, Winter Park ( Mary Jane ).
Actually itā€™s been too long that Iā€™ve skiā€™d period.
Around here would be Devils Head, Cascade, Big Powder Horn, Indian Head etc.

Wish we lived closer to the real mountains, I'd buy a yearly pass.

Enjoy!

mainly hit alpine and devils head around here, usually out in lake Tahoe or CO 2-3x year shredding the gnar. Tahoe has been weak sauce since 2011 though, mainly go out there because of stupid cheap hotel rooms (with casino gaming card) and because my cousin lives out there and rides.

Big Sky WAS on my bucket list of places to ski and snowboard but my knee and surgeon both decided I'm not allowed to do either ever again. I've been to Stowe, Killington and Sugarbush (SFW) on the east coast, Copper Mountain in Co and I was kicked off just about every ski hill/snow covered garbage pile in the Midwest all the way up to the U.P. Always wanted to go to Big Sky but now it'd just be like twisting the knife. I'm beyond pissed that I can't ski anymore.

That being said I have a pair Dynastar Big Max 3's on Marker M71 bindings that have never touched snow for sale. I'm tired of looking at them and when I do it makes my ACL and MCL hurt.

I got kicked off for skiing out of bounds, jumping and just generally being a douche. I was a combination of a good skier, fearless and completely fucking nuts. Especially on a snowboard. Not that it counts but they had my picture up at the lift ticket offices of Wilmot and a few other "local" garbage piles around here that said "DO NOT sell this man a lift ticket". Didn't stop my friends from buying my tags though.

Ironically I went 2 winters ago to crested butte, my wifes family goes there all the time, I really enjoyed it there.

I just got back from Big sky, Montana got the shaft this year with snow and spring is coming early as heck, way too warm. Overall it was still awesome, I can't imagine how good the slopes are when its fresh powder!

Its like not even an hour drive from bozeman, problem is getting there, only served by Delta and United... a few direct flights, but still $$$$$

I have been very fortunate with my trips out there so far. 7-8 out of the 10 have been pow days, getting seriously dumped on for 2-3 of those.

So you didn't ski beyond blues while you were out there? As far as blues go, I have always enjoyed Calamity and Crazy Horse. I skied the bowl this past time in addition to a few other blacks.

i dunno if it's been mentioned but where is everyone's go to for a fucking awesome hotwax/tune?

There are two places around here as far as I know. Snowbird in Libertyville and Viking in Barrington. I have had my skis tuned at both. I was fitted for boots at Viking. Viking seems to have a very knowledgable staff, so I tend to lean towards them as far as preferences go.
