Brand New Hawking NAS (Network Accessible Storage) Great For Home

Brand New Hawking HNAS1.

Bought this a few months ago only to realize this only accepts IDE drives and not my SATA drive; procrastination prevented me from returning it.

my loss, your gain. These typically sell for $80-100.

I'm asking $50 picked up in Tinley Park or Itasca.
If you'd like it shipped, add $7.50.

I have no idea what that is but I kinda want it...

Will is work with a laptop or desktop only?

It'll work with either.

I use mine as a central repository for pictures, music and back ups.

The best thing is that it can be access by anyone on my home network, either from my laptop, my wife's laptop, or my crappy "test" desktop.

if you have a cable / dsl modem with empty network ports, you'd plug this into that, if not you'd just need to get a switch.

Yeah, I got a wireless router and a cable modem...

I'll take it, got tons of pics I need to backup and two wireless laptops to access...

Lets do lunch some day and I will pick it up.

sounds like a plan.

So I just need an IDE drive to throw into it right?

yes any IDE drive under 250GB will do the trick.
