You can get a decent 2 channel pistol grip style radio system on Ebay for under $50 and brand new from tower hobbies or horizon hobby or your local hobby shop for under $100. I still have a touring car which is why I need to keep the radio system, speed control and battery etc.

This thing has only seen dirt one time otherwise I have driven it up an down my street and in my grass front yard. I always clean it after every run and it's like brand new.
