Default 20TB Plex Media Server for sale

FreeNAS Plex Media Server for sale. While it has 20TB in total, the total usable Formatted storage is about 16TB. This server can support the complete failure of any single drive without loss of data.

Price: $600 picked up.

Specifications:
AMD A10-7850k CPU
Gigabyte A88XM-E45 Mobo
32GB DDR3L-1600 RAM
5x WD Green 4TB Hard drives in RaidZ1 (like Raid 5)
1x Crucial M500 120GB SSD for Plex Media Server database
1x 16GB Sandisk USB for FreeNAS OS

This is a fully configured ready to go Plex Media Server. All it requires is 1 Network cable, and 1 power cable. The system runs headless without a monitor. Its also silent and makes no noise when running.

Connect to the file shares and put your Music, Movies, Pictures...etc into the folders with the correct naming schemes and Plex will automatically fill out all the Synopsis, Poster Art, Cast & Crew metadata for you.

With some small configuration on your part this can also stream to your devices over the internet, so you can watch your movies anywhere in the world.

Works with any device that supports the Plex app. https://www.plex.tv/apps

This server is capable of transcoding all 1080P content into any format on the fly, and can direct stream 4K files. It supports pass-thru of DTS-HD, Dolby Atmos, TrueHD and other lossless codecs to a receiver. So you can have full Bluray quality without having to swap discs. You can start watching a movie on your home theater, and then pick-up the movie on your phone. Multiple people can watch media at the same time.

Dropping the price to $600, have some motivation to sell it now.

Not required. Its a giant myth that FreeNAS requires ECC for stable operation.

Never had any corruption of data in the years I've been using FreeNAS w/o ECC.

Ehhh maybe its ok for plex. Id be using this as a backup nas. ECC is huge deal with raids and data integrity. Not saying it wont work without it, youre just asking for corruption eventually though. Even FreeNAS doesn't recommend it right on their website, so hardly a myth.

Its a good price for someone who wants a plug and play plex server with a ton of storage, i just would want ECC and not WD green drives for something running 24/7 lol.

Matthew Ahrens, one of the men who wrote ZFS has gone on record that its not required and it doesn't need it any more than any other file system.

The ECC requirement is a myth. Every desktop system in the world gets away with non-ECC ram.

Correct, desktop system. Every actual server has ECC...and its not just cause.

Not going to do the ECC vs non-ECC debate here, You can visit the 100+ page thread on the FreeNAS forums. If you aren't going to buy it, please step out.

The server is stable, and reliable. I've run the CPU and Mobo combo for years with various drives and never had corruption or data loss. I've never even had a drive failure. I only moved away from the 4TB drives because I doubled my capacity with 8TB drives and do not need the 20TB array.

I wouldn't offer it up for sale if I honestly thought people would lose their data.
