if my assumptions are correct, you can't just drop this in an 01 cobra without disrupting the PATS right?

Yes, it has to go to a dealer to be programmed to your vehicle or your keys programed to the cluster, something like that. Depends on how good of friends you have at your local dealer.

Can't be that hard, I bet someone on here knows someone at a dealer to do it. I guess the legal thing would be that you are changing the mileage, I think thye order them with the mileage already on them if they had to do a dealer repair.

If anyone works at a dealership or knows someone who would do the PATS reprogramming please chim in.

can you check the actual mileage? my cobra has about 30,000 so if they match up decently that might be something worth doing
