It lights up the color of a light (whitish/yellow) But you can put a red, blue or green little condom light bulb cover over the bulb and it will light up that color.. :biggthump

Yeah you have to have a nylon or steel line running to it. Some like it some dont. I didnt have any issues with it inside the car. Go on jegs.com and look at the autometer gauge accessories they sell the tubing/fittings.
