I just got a belt drive Puma, and I don't need 3 compressors so these are going to the garage sale unless someone here wants them.
The Porter cable is a 3hp model with a 4 gallon tank $50
The Craftsman is a 5hp model with a 22 gallon tank $75
I just rebuilt both compressor pumps today. They got new seals and rings, the bores were re-honed. They both pump up great, the PC holds at 140psi, the Craftsman holds at 120psi. I was using the Craftsman for a long time and it started getting extremely noisy and woudn't pump up quick at all. With the pump rebuild it quieted down a lot (the piston ring was shot). These are both direct drive, so they won't be as quiet as a belt drive. However both are oiless, and rebuild parts are easy to get and inexpensive ( rebuilding the pump is a tick under $20). Both of these pump run off of 110v, although the Craftsman trips my breaker with 15amp service if I run all my garage lights with it on.
