‘06 Hyundai Tucson Limited (Cheap)

‘06 Hyundai Tucson Limited. FWD, 2.7l. 220,000 , full power, a/c, moon roof, heated seats. Leather.

I drove it home (25miles) and parked in the the driveway and basically left it. It ran, drove, stopped fine. I did an oil change and used a non-Hyundai filter and as soon as I fired it up a lifted started to tick. After researching the whole “Use Hyundai Oil Filers Only” I bought one from the dealer and picked up a new set (24) of lifters. That’s as far as I really went. I just threw it on the back burner. I picked up new parts and tossed them in the truck over the last couple months.
Lifters, Timing Chain Kit (w/water pump), intake gaskets, air filter.
I figured if I was going to do the lifters, might as well do a timing chain.
I went out there a couple days ago and fired it up. It’s been sitting for a few months. It’s throwing a camshaft position sensor code. Sooooo. I don’t see myself fixing it. All in all the thing is in great shape. It would make a good driver. Body is in very good shape. Hood has rust on the front lip. The drivers leather is jacked up. I think I still have the original headlights. I put the new tinted ones on I bought off Amazon.

No it won’t drive as is. Needs the cam position sensor.

$750 (no lowballs) Have clean Illinois title, located in Manhattan, IL.
I’ll take a bunch of pictures today.

Thanks,
Matt

I don't usually give opinions in for sale posts but...

As a first time poster with zero cred, you're going to find it hard to unload an older vehicle with known engine internals problems.

Everybody on site knows if it's an easy repair, you do it before you sell the vehicle. You don't buy parts and throw them in the back. That suggests it's a tough repair you don't want to do.

CarMax offer you anything for it? If so, take it.

BTW.. I forgot my original username/ login. I am the original poster.. I’m not a first time poster.. I’m not trying to “flip” it. I thought I would see if anyone needed a cheap beater that could be an easy fix for a few bucks. I don’t need this car anymore but I didn’t want to just junk it because it’s in pretty good shape.
