Unfortunately I have to put one of my 4 cars up for sale, so here it goes.
This is a "TCG only" post, I HATE dealing with the scum of CL, so I'm hoping it can go to a good home here.
1999 Bonneville with 132k miles. I bought another car so the mileage likely won't go up much, but I still drive it here and there. (some cars peepin' in the pics)
TCG ONLY price = $1000
LOCATION - Aurora IL 60502 area
I got this car from another forum member with the only known fact that it was overheating when it was sold from the PO. Well, the first thing I did was make sure the motor wasn't seized up by turning it over with a ratchet (the oil was not mixed with coolant or anything, it was just oil). The motor spun about 1 revolution and felt like it was hydro locked. Well it was, there was coolant in the cylinders, so I figured it was the worst of the worst and blew a head gasket. Tore everything down and replaced all gaskets from the block to the TB.
Well... Turns out after all of that work, it was just the EGR that melted the upper intake (it's a plastic piece of shit) and there was a hole behind the TB that was leaking coolant onto the UIM and eventually flooding the cylinders. Replaced that and 7,000 miles later, here she is, ready for a new home.
So it has gotten NEW...
-LIM gaskets
-UIM gaskets
-Valve cover gaskets
-Head Gaskets
-Coolant elbows
-TB gasket
-AC condenser
-PO replaced ALL brake lines with SS brake lines and it was done the right way
-Fuel lines were replaced when I owned it (Merlin's) the supply line burst on me and it was COLD AF so I didn't do it myself
-New battery
Like any GM car from that era that has lived in the salt infested shit, it does have rust. It's not like most of them, but you can see the drivers side fender and passenger fender have rust near the bottom. The drivers side being the one with the most rust damage.
Other than that, she has been a bad ass ride for me over the past 8 months or so she's been in my hands.
Lets get on to some pictures... All were taken today 3/7/2016 after a much needed bath. I was running out of light so I didn't get any interior pics, but it's nice. Typical comfortable AF Bonneville seats. One of the best driving positions ever.
OHH and the OG CD player doesn't work :-( but :gives:
This is back when I started working on old girl, RSEX jelly AF.
After everything was replaced and the UIM covered in coolant. Super pissed off at this point..
Priorities... Stock exhaust for quiet S2000 more important.
Tear down pics. Unfortunately I was trying to DO WORK so I didn't take as many pictures of the work as I wanted to. I wanted old girl running/driving.
This bitch ass thing. This is all it was the whole time, just a stupid fucking hole.
