V6/231 with trans

V6/231 with trans FREE FREE FREE

I know this is probably a long shot. I have what I believe is a V6/231 and trans out of my next project a 1982 Regal. I pulled the motor and trans on Saturday and its currently sitting in my garage, only has 67,000 original miles on it. Has aftermarket Headman headers and an edelbrock intake. Motor is complete except for carb, buddy that helped me pull the motor seen it was a Holly 750 and he took it. Any interest, located in Streamwood, $FREE, can text or email pics

pretty sure that is a 4.1liter, can be popular with the turbo buick crowd. There should be 4.1 cast into the block on the passenger side of the block by the head mating surface.

check it out and see if it is. does it have a 4 barrel intake? that would be a giveaway that it was a 4.1 as well I think.

The casting comes back as a 2bbl 3.8L. The block is weaker in the main webs than a 109 due to the lifter valley but buildable for someone in a pinch. As he said the intake's aftermarket.

If it's square with a notch cut out of it you've got a 3 speed if not then it's a 200R4. The heads are likely pre 8445 and the trans will be something like a 200C or a 200R4.

Thanks and no I haven't. Not sure it's really worth it, will probably scrap it if nobody can use it.

So I moved this out of my garage and in to my shed a couple weeks ago to get it out of my way and totally forgot about it. If someone wants this for free come get it, otherwise it goes to the scrap guy tomorrow. I'm willing to hold on to it until this weekend if someone says they want it.
