1998 chevy 1500 express van 700obo

it has 190k miles on it, hard to start and im tired of messing with it has a tune up and a new fuel pump needs a brake line one is blown and new front pads and what ever is causing the hard start, it eventually starts but takes a long time unless you hit it with carb cleaner or starting fluid once it starts it seems to run fine after a few minutes, Im taking it to the scrap yard on monday it is drive able but sketchy only the rear drums work with the blown brake line

No ls motor they didn't put the 5.3 in the big vans until 2003 it's a vortec 5.0

No you crank it on and off for 5-10 minutes and it starts to pop over like it wants to start eventually it will start and die about 10 times then finally it will start and run like shit for about 5minutrs then after all of that it will run perfect lol, it starts right up on starting fluid it takes a few tries to keep it running though

Sounds like a fuel delivery issue or the spider. If it hasn't had a fuel pump yet they tend to eat them at ~150, if it has then the spider's a plausibility. Wish I wasn't road tripping, I'm out until thanksgiving. I'd Vortec 305 swap the Lemans because the bitch is knocking.

just did a pump the pressure is good, and it dosnt drop off like you would expect with the spider leaking or a fuel pressure regulator, its just a pain in the ass to work on and I dont want to be into it for any more than I am now

Try the TPS sensor. I've seen a sticky one cause this.
