$1,900, 147,000 miles
I’ve owned this car since January 2003. It’s been a great car for my brother and I who shared driving duty over the 10+ years in my ownership. Recent new parts include a fuel pump, new MAF and IAC, plug wires, HVAC blower motor, front and rear brakes and probably some other things I'm forgetting. These pictures don’t show the new headlights but I have replacement corner markers and headlight capsules on the way. Transmission fluid and engine oil have been changed regularly.
The car is still capable of pulling 30 mpg on the highway and drives great for its age. Doesn’t smoke, tick, it shifts beautifully and has always run on 93 octane. I never abused the car nor did any massive burnouts. The intake gaskets were replaced around 2006 with I think 80,000 miles on the car. The interior is still in great shape and has rarely seated more than just a driver. The speakers are Infinity in front and Kenwood out back plus the Pioneer deck has USB and auxiliary inputs. The two 10-inch MTX Blue Thunder subs and MB Quart 1000-watt amp come with the car.
For a short while, this car was faster than my stock `98 TA. The following mods are installed:
• 3.4-inch press-on pulley (the only pulley ran other than stock)
• Pacesetter coated headers paired with stock cat-back
• ZZP 1.9 modded stock rockers
• LS6 valve springs and retainers
• Wizair cold-air intake
• Fuel pump rewire
• DHP 1.0 pcm
• Poly dog bone mounts, ZZP engine and transmission mounts
• Vogtland lower springs
• AGX shocks up front, stock out back (one AGX shock blew up so replaced both with stockers)
• Pogo mod
• Front strut tower brace
The car has your typical Grand Prix corrosion problems. This would make a great train station car or short commuter but has its share of quirks and body/paint usage you’d expect from a daily driven 147,000-mile Grand Prix. The ABS light is on, the air conditioning has a leak and there's a slight oil pan leak. There’s also a squeak that comes from under the hood until the car warms up, and the exhaust flex could be replaced. All of that is reflected in the low, low, come-get-this-off-my-hands-now-price. Sad to see it go, but my brother is moving onto something different and I don’t have the room for the TA and GTP. Hit me up with any questions. The car is in the Naperville/Lisle area.
