Selling my very clean 2001 Cherokee XJ 60th Anniversary which just turned 110,000 miles. Kind of rare clean truck. Spend months looking for it. Without knowing the miles, it can pass for a sum 90K mile truck just by looking at it. It’s just a nice urban Jeep that will get you through any snow and haul my kids around. Located near Chicago. NEVER EVER been off roaded, crawled, no skid plates, sliders, lockers, NO offroading damage ANYWHERE, fender flares in mint condition, no crazy bumpers or winches, frame damage from plowing, pulling etc.. . No trail rig here. I’m sure it would be very respectable as is or with a few additional mods. Couldn’t risk damage or expense as this is my primary source of transportation and needs to be dependable.

Interior and exterior is very clean. Outside doesn’t have any dents or scratches. Paint shines really nicely. Very minor rust in a few places that has been treated with POR 15. Interior is black and rear seats look like probably never sat in. I had two baby seats in there only. No leaks or engine smoke. Tune-up done with new plugs, coil and wires just under 100K. All fluids changed, engine obviously, diff, trans and both axles.

I bought the truck a few years back that had only one owner and it was mint and 100% stock. It had to be stored inside. In the last 10-15K miles I got the itch and did the following mods just to have a nice urban Jeep, just rounding $’s:
•Rough Country 4.5 lift $400 plus in$stall, Full lift. No cheap add leafs, blocks, spacers and other budget BS. Brand new full leafs w/shackles and front springs
•Transfer case drop
•Monroe Sensatrac shocks $300
•Nitto Grappler tires 31.5” 265/75/16, 90% tread left $800+, looks nice with the classic 16” wheels and not the usual 31”/15” combo. Perfectly balanced and rotated regularly. Alignment is perfect and they are wearing out evenly, no odd tread wear
•Iron Man Track Bar $200
•Viper 2-way alarm and remote start good up to ¼ mile. $400, best investment I ever made for these Chicago cold winters.
•Kenwood CD headunit $200
•All new speakers $200
•COMPLETELY NEW brakes, yes includes front rotors, calipers & pads, rear drums, pads and all hardware $400, from Napa with lifetime warranty
•Front bearings hubs from Napa with lifetime warranty $400
•ALL NEW AC SYSTEM. Yes, this Jeep has a fully functioning and charged AC system. Heating components were also changed. All new AC components under the dash, hood, etc. $450 and I paid another $400 in labor to take out the dash and install everything.
•Rusty’s cold air kit $70
•Front sway bar quick disconnects $50
•Tow hitch $150
•New crank sensor $$
•Tinted windows to match rears $$
•New battery $80
•Probably another $1,000 in installation, balancing, alignment, etc….
•EQUALS TO OVER $4,000

I’m sure I’m missing a few things here and there that came up

The truck drives perfectly. Has the proper balancing and alignment done for the lift. Axle angles checked and shimmed w/HD track bar. You can do 80mph on the highway all day without thinking of getting the death wobble. I would not put two kids in there if there was any chance of that happening.

I have no idea where to start, but I know I have a nice clean dependable and not beat to shit truck. Title in hand. Needs to go as I don’t have room in the driveway, but I won’t give it away. How bout we start at $6,800. All reasonable offers will be considered. I’m open to few trades plus cash. 2 stoke dirt bikes: CR500, 2005+ YZ250 or anything equivalent. Mustang notchback. Banshee performance parts. Need a 2-place snowmobile aluminum trailer. A nice full suspension mountain bike. I need some 275/65/20 or 305/55/20 tires for my new Tundra. Let me know what you got.

Call seven 7 three, six three 6, five 26 three. PM me for more info or send email for pics. Thanks

Nice jeep but 6800 is going to be very hard to get out of that as mentioned. As I have had 8 cherokee's over the years stock and modded I like to think I'm quite familiar with what they go for. 110k is good miles, it's a 01, 60th anniversary package is nice to have too. I didn't see any mention of leather or overhead console. I would price it around $5700. And see what happens. It's probably gonna sell for 4800-5200 though. Nice xj's with low 100's just seem to top out at 5k. Also the lift is gonna hurt you in the sale. For a few reasons. One you limit your buyer to someone who wants a lifted one. Most buyers want stock height. Also even if it is clear as day it has never been wheeled. People will claim high and low it has been because it is lifted. Rule of thumb is $.50 on the $1 for every mod if your lucky. If it were steel blue I would probably make you a nice offer on it. My wife has been bugging me for a steel blue for a while now for her. She isn't open to any other color though, and she hates silver.

Good luck with the sale. Once you've had an xj its hard not to have one again. You will be back behind the wheel of another one.

Normally I'm the one to say "your price is too damn high" but I don't think he's too far off here. I sold my white '98 Cherokee Classic with 113,000 miles for $6,000 a little less than a year ago, and the market for these things has stayed remotely the same, with the exception of more bottom of the barrel rust buckets to avoid. And this one has a TON of great parts on it as well.

Yeah, I was surprised that people thought it was high. I mean I know nothing about the Jeep market, but I guess I just assumed that $6,800 was fair for a clean one like this.

Well as I mentioned earlier I have had 8 xj's over the years. With the exception of one 94 all have been 98 and newer. The most I ever got for one was 5200. That was for a chillie pepper red rust free 98 sport. I mean no rust period on the rockers, top of the roof, bottoms of the doors, top of the a pillars factory, spotless paint having sport model. It had 109k miles, straight as an arrow, over head console, np242 transfer case factory 2 tone eccos. I also had done a ton of maintence on it fluid changes every year, new brakes, tires, shocks, u joints all the way around. Granted the first person who looked at it bought it. When I tired to sell my stock patriot blue and fern green 2000's(both down south xj's/I should of kept the patriot blue because I love the color) I started around 6 and couldn't get anyone out to see them. People called a bunch but didn't bother to make the trip. Once I got down near 5k I got tons of calls and in both cases sold both with in a day or 2 of the new price for bear the new price. Just saying. I hope you can pull that coin out of it. I have a Texas 98 sport that is stock I picked up for my mom that we have been thinking of moving down the road for a wj. My dad is just to tall for an xj and has a hard time being comfortable in it. But the larger interior of the wj works for him. I keep hoping the release if the new cherokee that is so hideous will drive the resale of my xj higher.

I'm not saying its not a clean xj. It is! One of the nicer ones out there. I just don't see 7k or even 6k happening. The reason why is there are so many really nice ones for sale at 4k with the same mileage. And in most cases are stock which majority of people prefer. I will be really interested to see what it goes for.

It's such a same it isn't steel blue because I would try and work a deal for it.
