"Oil leak (appears to be rear main - quoted $250 to fix - could just be oil pan though)"

Wouldn't the mechanic have to know exactly where the leak is coming from to estimate a quote for fixing the leak?

IM just asking because I am looking to get into another Cobra. I dont want to get myself into another mess like I did with my last Cobra. My last cobra had 450 to the wheels. I need more this time around.

Yes, I am guessing that it is worst case a rear main - might just be loose oil pan. So, I asked for pricing on rear main replacement from Dean and Kurgan (high price of two was $270).

I haven't had a chance to crawl under the car (back injury from work) - so I can't narrow it anymore than that at this point. It is definitely oil - not tranny fluid.

If I take car in to be fixed - it will be getting put back to stock while it is there. I would really like to have the Whipple for my 04 Cobra (currently has KB 2.4). Trying to sell as-is though just to unload it - since I have 2 Cobra payments currently - but not going to give it away when I know I can strip it and probably make more money in the end.

The car's paint being black will need some elbow grease - still shines nice - but definitely has swirls. Couple scratches out back and slight imperfection on rear bumper - and I mentioned hood in original post.

Not gonna try to hide anything - have sold a couple Cobras (3 or 4) on here - so several people on here know I tell it how it is...this isn't the nicest Cobra I have sold - but it is definitely no clunker or accident car (the others only had 13k / 10k / 22k miles).
