My gpa is around ~2.2 right now I had a horrible last semester with all the problems that have been going on in my family... but everything is finally coming back to normal.... I need to transfer to any school that can accept me and has Computer Science courses.

I would go to CLC if I could but they do not offer any courses that are above the 200 level ( I need 300 level courses ).... I have 2 years completed (all of my general courses) so I just need to take like 2 CS courses and 2 french courses (or just a bunch of CS courses) and I can transfer back to LFC if I want... - which would be best. I just need help finding 1) schools that can accept people with lower GPA's , (most important) and 2) Cheap. (but even if its expensive I can find a way)

So I was looking at http://admissions.siu.edu/ Southern Illinois university.... they will accept me im pretty sure but that is 6 hours away. I would prefer to be closer but if I can't get anything else I guess that is what ill have to do.... I am just wondering if you guys can give me lists of public schools that are cheap, that I could complete / or take Computer Science courses in. http://illinois.edu/ (UofI in Champagne) is also a good prospective but its like 30K a year... so maybe I can get financial aid. But if you guys know any good schools that would have a CS program and accept a transfer student with a low GPA?

Cliff: basically ANY school in IL that accepts transfer students with 2.0 GPA and higher

thanks for your time

Try Elmhurst thats where I am going for CS degree and its close to home for me not sure how far away that is for you but, its a good school. You can even try Devry or ITT Tech. Dominican also has CS courses in Oak Park applying doesnt hurt anyone all you will do is find out if you got in or not.

You could try I.S.U. in Bloomington. It's closer than Champaign. My daughter is leaving tomorrow to start Freshman year. I don't know anything about their CS program. My daughter is majoring in Math Ed. It's around $20K a year if you stay on campus, less if you don't. Maybe call a counselor and discuss your situation and see what they suggest. Here's a link: http://www.ilstu.edu/
