Tonight is the team demolition derby at Route 66. I'm leaving shortly to go watch the mayhem. Nice dry day so unless they really water down the track, that will make for some high speed crashes. There is another one next month if you can't make tonight. 7 PM start time...

Great demolition derby tonight. The Loco Motion is one heck of a demo team. They annihilated their competition. In the finals one worker discovered his golf cart was parked too close to the track because two cars left the track during a collision. One of them rode up on some tires and landed smack on top of the cart. Oops! They had a DJ competition [2 DJs in cars] very lame. One of them was in a Lincoln and as soon as he got tapped the car died. Fuel pump cut off switch I bet. Seemed like a couple of wusses from the way they drove. Fireworks afterwards were cool.

Route 66 still doesn't realize how popular the demo derbies are. They were surprised again tonight that they sold out and had to turn people away. Next month [Aug. 28] is the world finals. If you are going, get your tickets in advance or go early because it will be another sell out.
