I find it hard to believe that the phone companies can't figure out who is calling you using your own number. It's probably someone in India but still...

IMO, the phone companies could do a lot more to block spammers but don't want to be bothered. Might take time away from counting their money.

I'd be happy if they charged ten cents a call for calls originating in other countries. Wouldn't affect most of us but the spammers would be spending $100+ a day. I bet that would eliminate a lot of the spam.

But if it's a robodial, it you listen to the end, it says to press 9 to be removed from this list.

There are other things you can do to get your information removed, but it's something that you have to do regularly.

Stop signing up for free shit, raffles and "you won an iPod" pop ups

On my work cell phone i get 847-226-xxxx calls every single day (thats the same beginning of my number). Has a different last 4 numbers every time so blocking hasn't even helped.

Its actually gotten to the point where I hit skip so many times, I end up accidentally skipping important phone calls.
