Interesting results here. Looks like the gaming doesn't cause much. But displaying CNN constantly will ruin it pretty fast. As I don't watch CNN, I think I'll be good.

These are pretty abusive tests though.

The TV's are displaying stuff for 20 hours per day, 7 days per week. I watch maybe 20hrs of TV a week if I'm binging a TV series.

Wow, apparently fake news ruins your TV!

I had a plasma TV at work which displayed mostly Fox News Channel for about 11 years straight for 10 hours per day. During commercials or if you changed the channel, you could see the Fox News logo still burned in on the screen, but it faded after about 10 minutes and didn't seem to cause any long term damage to the screen.

The problem is that Fox, CNN and probably other news stations keep their logo in the same position on the screen all day.
