The best details, believe me

It was announced today that the streaming giant Netflix will be raising prices on every single one of its streaming plans, which will impact all 58 million subscribers stateside. Per a report from The AP, the most popular plan will jump from $11 a month to $13. The basic plan of $8 a month jumps to $9, and the premium plan, which offers 4K streaming on select titles, will go from $14 a month to a whopping $16 — a dollar more than the cost of an HBO Now subscription.

The news comes amid repeating accounts of Netflix acquiring a debt somewhere around $14 billion. The price hike is set to go into effect for US customers over the next three months. It will also affect customers in Latin American countries that bills in U.S. currency.

News of the increase did manage to push the Netflix stock up about 5 percent, while likely frustrating subscribers. The company last increased prices in late 2017, but in the year-plus since then, competing platforms like Amazon Prime and Hulu have upped the ante by producing their own original content, as well as striking deals for exclusive rights to stream content from other networks and studios.

Eehh, take the extra $2, whatever, it's not like I'm going to cancel service :io:

That shit used to be $5.99. Its not just 2 bucks one time. They keep raising prices.

As much as I hate to pay for Netflix since everything is free on Kodi anyways....I have to keep it for the kids. The interface and all that is easy for the kids to use. Hard to give up.

Make yourself a plex server. Eliminate using shiti, I mean Kodi and Netflix.

Is using Kodi necessarily 'illegal'? Or is it more about the people that host movies as opposed to streaming them?

As far as I understand it is not in fact illegal to stream the movies/shows. Hosting would be, or selling devices with kodi and streaming software pre-loaded would be, but just streaming would not be.

I'm not a lawyer though.

Not a bad idea, and I do have a Plex server setup (a weak ass one) that my kids use, but then its on me to be constantly adding content.

Its not all that hard IMO. Hell if you know enough people you can get a set up so large it would take awhile to go through everything and by that time you can just add as you go and there will be more by the time the initial stuff is watched.

It's much cheaper access Netflix through VPN. I have also been researching and comparing VPN providers for watching Netflix and have come to conclusion that ExpressVPN is the best option. I haven't signed up yet so cannot speak from personal experience but purely based on highly reputable reviews: https://www.firesticktricks.com/best-netflix-vpn.html

I'll keep you posted soon on my experience with ExpressVPN

I had ExpressVPN and used on my HTPC. Netflix/HBO/Amazon blocked access to their videos when using the VPN. Maybe there's a workaround, but I never bothered looking into it. The content in other countries wasn't good enough to go through the trouble
