For many, Santa Claus will always be a jolly, white-bearded gentleman who wears red and has a huge appetite for milk and cookies.

But Santa might be too antiquated for modern times, and one company has offered up the idea of a possible gender-neutral Father Christmas.

GraphicSprings, a logo creation company, got the input of 400 people from the U.S. and United Kingdom about ways to modernize St. Nick. It then used the top suggestions to survey 4,000 people on how they envision a 2018 version of the big man (or woman).

In terms of what gender Santa should be, nearly 19 percent of U.S. respondents said the patriarch of Christmas should be identified neither as male or female. More than 10 percent said a woman should fill the role.

That left a little over 70 percent of respondents affirming a male St. Nick.

In total, approximately 27 percent of U.S. and U.K. respondents felt Santa should be rebranded as female or gender neutral.

In other fields, respondents were largely in favor of leaving Santa Claus in the typical sense. More than 73 percent said Santa doesn't need to drink beer, look younger, have tattoos, go on a diet, get a new hairstyle, or shave his beard.

In addition, more than 57 percent said Santa shouldn't have to change out his customary sleigh for transportation. Among the choices in this category were flying car, using Amazon Prime, and riding a hoverboard.

The company disclosed that the survey took place in October and November.

I know there are plenty of progressive types on here that could care less or support gender neutrality or fluidity or what ever the fuck its called, but why for fucks sake cant we have traditions left the fuck alone. They are called traditions for a reason.

I'm a conservative dude, and frankly...give absolute zero fucks what adults want to do about their gender or gender identity. Its a free country, and if you want to chop your dick off and change your name and drivers license and use the women's bathroom, I fully support your rights to do that.

The issue is pushing this crap on absolutely every aspect of our society and especially on children. These lunatics want gender erased or taught like it is some kind of choice. Its God damn science! There are males and there are females. Neither is good or bad, neither is better than the other, but they are different and there is no denying that.

Raise your damn children how you want, but don't ask the rest of us to act like there aren't boys and girls. When your child grows up to be an adult, support them if they want to change their gender at that point.

This shit is nuts!

Am I the only one who doesn't give a fuck at all? Make your own holiday with your own version of santa, who gives a fuck what other people want or do :dunno:

The problem is these groups want to change how YOU view Santa, change your view of traditions, and how you celebrate the holiday. This group wants to make Santa gender neutral. Other groups think you shouldn't be able to celebrate Christmas at all.

The fact that Santa Claus is based off of Saint Nicholas makes it absurd that they want a gender neutral Santa. Make a new figure and all new holiday with that figure. Leave other traditions alone. I mean come on, does Christmas and Santa really hurt anyone? People don't celebrate it due to different reasons. But does it do any harm to them? Maybe these groups could point their efforts towards something that really would serve the world better?

Last time I checked, there are still plenty of companies/stores/whoever that will glady portray Santa in the traditional way. If people want to change their views, OK have at it, so far there's not legislation or requirement that these things change in the public. So I stand by my stance, NFG, I'll practice my holiday how I want, and pay no nevermind to the people around me.

20% of the population (at most) trying to control 80%+. Fuck them.

I want traditions because the good ones bring love and belonging to families/friends.

If the PC people don't like our holiday stuff, they can do their own. Just don't try to make me do theirs.

It's actually under 10% based on the article I posted.
