Tesla stopped in auto pilot mode - Driver booked for DUI

Police in Cali. followed a Tesla doing 70 mph after they observed the driver appeared to be asleep. Unable to pull over the vehicle, the cops put a squad in front of it that gradually slowed down and stopped.

It took a while to wake up the driver who was given a field sobriety test and booked for DUI.

Moral of the story? Your Tesla is not an Uber.

I wonder what the Tesla would have done during a pit maneuver? Would it auto correct the skid and continue on while calling for help? More likely stop or pull over and call for help?

This stuff has to be in the "advanced" programming.

Tesla updated that. If you leave the seat the car comes to a stop.

I believe someone in Europe was caught in the passenger seat with the car still driving. After that it was updated immediately

Although I would never opt for self driving cars to be the standard, there are times I wouldn't mind sleeping in the backseat while being driven to my destination.
