Youtube to MP4?

There used to be some firefox plugins that could do it. But most of them have made the transition to actually using a website on the backend for it instead of letting you download the direct stream.
Youtube also switched out the backend for its HD stuff. 720 and up now use a different format that separates the video and audio into two streams. So its much harder to download it.
About the only reliable way that doesn't use outside resources is to capture the window with a program and save that as the file. But then you get into degradation from multiple compression cycles.
