I’m getting the itch to gamble. Just wondering if anyone plays blackjack at any local Casinos?

Shouldn’t the odds be better if there’s 4-5 players against the dealer ?

They use several decks of cards too. Obviously. I’m just looking for any tips.

Thanks.

I am not sure about the real odds. But I hate playing with a large table. Typically I will get newbs who hit or don't hit correctly which can or typically affects my hand (At least in my opinion) :jg:

Exactly

That’s the main thing. We would need to get together with people you know to play with and listen. If you don’t know when to hit or not. LOL. Obviously, a lot has to do with what face card the dealer has.

That would be me, lol.
I like black jack but the few times I have played at the casino. People tend to yell at me or shake their head in disgust.

its the amount of decks that change odds, not players. I do like playing with more people, rather slow it down and enjoy the game. I always scout out the tables before sitting down. Being a noob is one thing, we were all there once.....they can be helped with the correct moves, but what I cannot stand is people that flush their money away splitting 10s or doubling down on 6s with a dealer showing a 10

Haven't gone in a while but its either Harrahs in Joliet or Horseshoe. You can find $10-$15 min 3 to 2 blackjack tables at horsehoe. Higher mins tend to keep noobs away too.

Ill disagree. I have been at many tables with say 3 people and me in the middle. Dealer hand is 4 or 5 face up. Dude on the right no clue and takes a hit while rest of table was just going to tap and let dealer draw another card. Welp dude on the right gets 10 or suited card. He busts and basically fcks the rest of the table as dealer should have busted. People can absolutely impact your play.

I see what you are saying but the bad player could have also hit and took the perfect card making a 21 for himself. Its all about chance. Bad players dont mathematically change the odds of the game. I am 100% for playing by the book, but the number of decks and house rules determine the overall odds at the table.

I’d rather not have them play next to me all I’m saying. You want to be succesful at black jack you play the odds. Not the what ifs. Yes that one guy may get lucky that one hand but I guarantee that same guy who jacked the table looses all his coin quickly. I can sit and have sat playing Black Jack for 3-5 hours straight in Vegas at a time. I typically come home in the positive. They also offer single deck chutes in Vegas still if you want to play them.

Black Jack's a known game. Every move you can do is either right or wrong depending on circumstances/players.

Casinos run multiple decks so players can't count cards. +1/-1 method works well against 1 or 2 decks but gets a lot more random with more.

Do you still play Poker, Cliff? I think I remember you mentioned playing. It’s been awhile though.

What’s the highest face card showing for the dealer , that you should hold your own hand and not hit?

Like I mentioned, I like to get together with a few guys that know what they’re doing.

The highest would be 6. Pretty much 4-6 are the highest bust rate cards. But its all circumstance and what you are holding. If you holding 5 and 6 then I’m hitting. It’s the people who have 12 or 13 and they hit when dealer is showing a 4-6 that drives me bonkers

Go ahead. I'll catch up.

I don't play much anymore. It was too much like a job. Real Estate is an easier way to make money.

I'll sit down at a game occasionally and surprise the amateur players. Usually tell them I played as a pro for a couple years so they don't get pissed.

I like to follow the WSOP series in the spring. That's on my bucket list if I can ever get a spare $10K and a couple free weeks to join the main event.

Fuckin Asian bitch dealer beat the other week. She must’ve drawn 5 cards or so to get 21.

I had 20.

Ha it happens. Delears don’t have much to think or care about. They either stop at 17 and or above or go to they bust. So you see those 5 card runs all to often. They are mindlessly playing the game where the players trying to beat the house sometimes are over thinking it.

I agree. They couldn’t care less. Just doing their job.

agreed. It is to the player's advantage to play by the book, otherwise statistically you aren't lasting very long. I get pissed when a noob takes a card you needed to make a good hand when they didnt need to hit.
