Yipee Ki-yay, mother****er! I know. Who wants another Die Hard film? God knows many fans love the first three, but the ones that came out in the 2000s and beyond are a little less than beloved by fans. As of this writing, there are five films in the franchise, the last two of which really seemed to let the steam out of the whole thing. But since when has that ever stopped Hollywood going forward with another film?
If you haven’t heard, the next project in development is Die Hard: Year One, which is set to be both a prequel and a sequel, incorporating a modern Bruce Willis John McClane with a younger John McClane portrayed through flashbacks. Apart from that main premise, details have been quite sparse in the time since the movie came to our attention.
Franchise vet Len Wiseman, who helmed Live Free or Die Hard is involved with Die Hard: Year One as director, and while at the TV Critics Association press tour, revealed some details about the upcoming film.
For starters, it looks like the movie will involve John McClane’s wife Holly Gennero, as Wiseman stated there will be a young version of the character and “there may very well be a reunion. Could this mean we could see Bonnie Bedelia reprise her role in the present day?
