Don't worry about browser plug-ins.. this protects your whole internet connection.. only thing I've noticed so far is fb video's don't show up on tcg.

Literally just set one of these up this weekend.

The amount of traffic it's blocked in 2 days is frightening.

Also, pi-hole still suggests using ad-blockers in your browser. JUST SAYIN

ya I feel semi rejuvenated blocking all that shit.

I think the only thing left to do is smash my fucking Note 8. I'm getting pintrest emails (I've never ever signed up for it, nor barely know what pintrest is) about topics I've only discussed near the phone, never googled or looked anything up.

Yeah i ran this for awhile as a network wide dns. I ran into more problems and ended up disabling it more then enabling it.

Its great to see what devices are excessively sending requests though

I abandoned it as well. Caused a lot of random issues. I can do must of this on pfSense anyway which I'm running as a VM for my router.

Seemed like lots of legit stuff got picked up based off the CDN they were using. So it was a pain to figure out if it was broken or blocked and then whitelist.

Does your gf have the Pinterest app? Did she ever send you Pinterest ideas? It could be from her device :dunno:

Same issues here.

:nope:

It was a pintrest email with ideas on how to finish a basement floor, never once googled it, only had a vocal conversation with a family friend electrician while we were down in a basement moving a natural gas line for a water heater Saturday.

Thought I would return this to the top since Ive been playing with mine on my server.

Ive added a few lists and now have over 1 million domains on my blocklist. Did have to whitelist quite a bit, and I am still figuring out a few small things, but I overall want to make this work since A, ad free browsing is just cleaner and B, since your DNS is not letting those ads, in that is bandwidth you are saving since its not being downloaded.

FWIW, here are the blocklists that I added to mine.

https://gist.githubusercontent.com/...82b906a9497624c3f3187a49ebc23a9cf2fb/Test.txt (this one supposedly blocks youtube ads, but I still get some sneaking in. I think this might be where my issue is for the youtube app not working sometimes on my phones) Actually, disregard this list. I compared my domains before and after and it made no change. Im still going to see if I am having issues with YT mobile either tonight or tomorrow.
