Local Area Trans Shop for GMs (Vettes) ?

I need a Transmission Case as mine exploded....cant start rebuilding till then. Having a tough time finding one.


I called Speed Inc and Finish Line and RPM Trans-NOPE..no Cores.


Any other shop I can try?

I was gonna ask, are the cases for a vette even special? I mean, I would think you could just go JY a generic 4L60 case of the same generation and throw it in. That's a pretty hard core bang. Get the ATSG book you can likely figure out a sub that way. The output shaft for a vette (at lest in the 700R4/C4 transmissions) was its own length though so you'll still want to swap innards. Also with it being a 65E you're gonna end up having 5 pinion planetaries etc. Just grab a bare generic case and swap yo junk in with new clutches.

That thing looks crusty as fuck. There's a few on car-part.com for around 750 for the whole gear box with under 100K.
