Clean car.

I want a German car as my next. I've been eyeing a 340xi to replace my G37.

You might have seen the recent post that details our new long-term 2016 BMW 340i's performance at the test track. Hopefully, you noted its 0-60 time: 4.4 seconds. Or, 4.1 seconds with 1 foot of roll-out, which is how enthusiast publications would report it.

i want a newer bmw right now really badly... just isn't in the cards yet to make the jump though.

i have alerts setup for a lot of stuff... i think ive said it before but a decent 2011 528i m sport pops up and im jumpin'

The firm seems like they want to keep her at any cost, she was going to feel out a raise too...she's only been there 3 months, so she was a bit worried is was going to be too much of an ask, but hey, what does she have to lose.

if she was already ready to walk out the door, she has noting to loose, and everything to gain.

Exactly. When she was looking for jobs that last time around, she had 3 other offers from firms. So she was actually pretty spoiled for choice. She ended up taking the money, hoping it would make up for the commute...it obviously hasn't...but this new turn of events has really changed things up, so she feels much more empowered about the whole thing.

They offered this after only 3 months on the job? Take it and run..that's a killer deal. In fairness to the company she knew about the commute when she accepted the job, but might not have known about the hours, and they're trying to work with her to make it better. I wouldn't ask for any more but that's just me.

2 WFH days is a huge deal

They kept the hours from her, before she signed her contract. She knew she had a billable hours requirement, but they wouldn't tell her the hours she'd have to be in the office.

I think a couple of other factors come into play, beyond everything, for them wanting to keep her, even after such a short amount of time, but it's just speculation on my part.

I was going to say the same thing.

If you're going to demand more, be prepared to walk, don't go in there acting like you would walk because if they call you on it and you say "okay, I'll stick with just the other stuff" you'll look bad IMO.

More and more companies in the northern burbs and the city are promoting WFH. Especially when folks are anywhere from 3 - 5 hrs round trip. They know commute time takes away from morale and productivity.

In the past year my buddy has posted for over 5300 sales / account exec positions. He landed but after an army of phone screens, phone interviews, flying out for in person interviews. There was a lot of “Resume fell into the dark abyss”. MBA, account exec / sales experience, etc.

I noticed you have to apply within a day or two of being posted. Better luck if you have a contact there.

Our company was outsourcing our department...instead of putting up with the BS of the outsource transition, I went and got a job and a competing outsource company.

Highly recommended
