Powerball, Mega Millions to leave Illinois if no budget passed: report | WGN-TV

CHICAGO — A published report says the multi-state lottery association overseeing Powerball and Mega Millions games will dump Illinois by the end of June if the state doesn’t end its budget impasse.
Illinois Lottery spokesman Jason Schaumburg tells The Chicago Sun-Times it’s another example of why Illinois needs a budget. The newspaper also cites internal lottery communications showing concern about Illinois’ finances.

The budget stalemate could enter a third year if lawmakers don’t reach agreement by July 1. Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner and Democrats controlling the Legislature have been deadlocked since 2015.
The Sun-Times says Illinois reported $99 million in Mega Millions sales and $208 million in Powerball sales in 2016. It’s unclear how much Illinois received.

The games are offered in 44 states.
Schaumburg and the Multi-State Lottery Association didn’t immediately return messages from The Associated Press.

Illinois is going to become the next Detroit....
Businesses will leave. People will leave. Chicago will end up looking more like Gotham City. This state has its head so far up its own ass. It's OK though... The representatives who want to pass the IL money issue off onto its citizens will sit back, get their millions and their bonuses. Man FUCK these people.

I honestly can't name one major US city that is run by liberals in this country that doesn't have a budget deficit and doesn't have insane debt.

These people literally have no idea how to balance a budget. All they know how to do is take and spend taxpayer dollars, line their pockets with that money, then pass the blame onto republicans and label them as evil greedy people. Even though conservatives are the ones who employ people and actually produce things. If it wasn't for Chicago, the state of Illinois would be a paradise. 95% of the state outside of the city is conservative and they know how to manage finances.

Dems won't sign anything unless there's an increase on taxes for us plebeians.

That's fine, as long as he keeps the pressure on them showing exactly what was in the budget taxes were cut in certain areas, etc...

He just needs to keep as many people on his side as possible so he has a shot at re-election.
