Yeah its true. But not for me. The wife has been driving our old van for almost 5 years. It was her time.

So I grabbed a 2017 Oxford White Ford Explorer XLT 4WD with the Ecoboost engine. Brand new. Got a screaming deal. First order of business get the front windows tinted to match the rear. And its done. Its so nice.

Penfed supplied the loan. Took about 20 minutes on the phone. The check should be in tomorrow. But they let me take the car today. I have to head back tomorrow to sign everything and pay for it. Man that was easy.

Im going to keep holding off on what I want. I was minutes away from buying one of those red tag camaros a few days ago. Some dude put a deposit on it while I was at work, and when I headed over there it was gone. The car was a $46,650 sticker, selling for $33k. There is only one more out there in the midwest and its black ofcourse. NOPE> cant do black. Oh well it was not meant to be. On to the next.

Pics of the new explorer on the way.

Which Ecoboost engine does it have??

2.3L Ecoboost I-4 - 280hp, 310tq.

Shes a stay at home mom, and the kids ride the bus to school. So its going to be a grocery and coffee running machine. Ill probably drive it to work on bad weather days too since its 4wd. But for now Ill rock our 09 caravan until spring atleast. No need for me to buy a summer car right now and make payments on it while it sits in the garage all winter.

Besides there are some cars coming out soon I might want. Since I lost that 2SS camaro, I have been looking into the 1LE version of the 6g camaro more and more. Its pretty well loaded for being based off of a 1SS. But manual tho. I really didnt want another manual. But for this kind of performance, I can make an exception.

looks good, I 2nd the sport wheel idea :jg:

Funny thing a very small part of me wants to skip the sports car, and get an explorer sport with the TT Ecoboost V6. Get it loaded up with every option you can get and just rock that from now on.

I know I would miss having a sports car like I do now, but man those new sploders are nice. Even my wife's not being a loaded one, is still VERY nice. I thought about a tahoe too, but now we are approaching $70k for an SUV.

Oh btw they had a white shelby GT350 there for $60k sticker. They would take sticker too Im sure. It was hidden in the back in a separate garage already detailed and ready for delivery. It was a special order, but the dude backed out because he found a GT350R.

Oh and I saw this at the dodge dealer when we were looking at durangos the other day. Whoops.
