Pretty huge step in cutting the cost of going to space. IMO.

Think about this for a second. While other countries and governments try to launch rockets big enough to carry a warhead the private company Space X can launch into outer space and return its own rocket to be used again.

Cost per launch drops from $16 mil. for the rocket to $200K for the fuel. Compare this to $450 mil. per shuttle launch. Even with any necessary repairs, that's HUGE savings. Could be a lot of people who can afford a $200K launch to get their people/products into orbit.

Before we jump all over NASA anyone want to look at how many people Space X has hired off NASA? I'd be willing to bet its more than 1 or 2...... Just saying.

Private space flights were inevitable. I honestly didn't think it would happen this fast though. SpaceX development is much faster then I expected.

I give it 5-10 years before you can pay less then 3k to go to space.

Next, they need to get payloads and people into space without 50% of the rockets exploding.

America needs a way to get our astronauts into space without relying on the Rooskies.
