With lows dipping down into the mid 40's the next few days I might have to turn on the heat at night. I usually just vacuum it out and replace the air filter. Anything else that is needed?

it depends on your furnace..Aprilaire 550/600 is a by-pass installation (sheet metal etc) or 700 is a power humidifier (easier install w/powered fan,but a few bucks more, not much)..700 should be your best bet.Not to hijack your thread but does anyone have a recommendation for a decent whole house humidifier? 1800 square foot 3 level townhome.
dat first time of the season heat smell tho
Just had to replace the fan last season. Vac that deal out, open the humidifier vent and turn on the thermostat! That's that.
