Reading this link, there's a few easier ways to make money if you find systems with Whispering Eggs on them. They sell for a good chunk, but they're tedious to pick up the items that come out of them because you get swarmed by some hard hitting enemies when you pick one up. They're found near abandoned buildings, you have to destroy them and they drop a Larval Core that sells for like 90k each. The way to cheese them is to build a wall around the eggs, but leave one out of the wall and mine that one, pick up the item, then jet pack into the wall around the others and mine those. The enemies that come out can't jump or fly so they can't get you inside the wall and will despawn after about 2mins. Made a quick few mil doing this yesterday.

There's other eggs that spawn inside cave systems of some planets that I can't remember the name of, but they sell for a good amount too (I think like 50k a pop)

Reading the article, it mentions Cobalt; Cobalt is pretty common in underground caves on most planets that I've been on so far.

Some tips that could help greatly:
Each space station has one paid upgrade available for your Exosuit - it's the same vendor that sells you blueprints and upgrades for your suit, walk to the blue hologram backpack to purchase an upgrade.

Cargo slots help a ton when mining materials, as they double the stacking of materials (can hold 500 carbon in a cargo slot instead of 250 in your regular exo inventory).

Always park your ship next to an area that you go into that you have an option to pick for the dialog that has a right or wrong answer - if you pick the wrong answer, just re-load your save and pick the right one to get the goods.

Drop Pods are well worth going after and repairing, it's free upgrades to your exosuit (one upgrade per pod).

Larvae cores ftw. You can also build a wall around a group, jump to the other side, break one, then go to the walled section and get them all.

Whats funny about the dialogs is they didnt really change those from the last version. So most of them I already know but when I started playing, i would do the save/reload all the time to get the dialogs correct. It matters the most for the manufacturing facilites because if you get it wrong, you dont get the blueprint or discovery.

Aaaaand I've made 2.2 million units from my haul. but to put that in perspective, the person I sold them to has a ship with 45 friggin slots in it, and it costs 69 MILLION units to buy. Christ I need to find that blueprint to make those cryo pumps.

Oh and the answer to our question is: it keeps me in your system when you log out, which is awesome.

I found another nest last night and made a couple more million. I've been putting it to good use to. Buying technology modules and parts to repair my busted ass multi tool. I've got 14 useable slots now, and theres still 4 more I need to repair. I've also been buying the shit out of drop pod coordinate cards. You can usually find them on outposts scattered around the planet. They only have 1 landing pad, and when you walk in theres an alien "receptionist" in the middle, theres a galactic trade terminal, and another merchant off the side selling blueprints and other stuff. He usually has at least 2-3 drop pod cards, so I was buying them whenever I found them. Think i have at least 15 or so right now stocked up. Eventually I hit the motherload and one of the galactic terminals in there actually had 69 of them I wanted to buy a ton, but just didnt have the inventory space. Time to change that.

And after a quick check it appears you can max the cargo slots out at 48 as well Christ. Yeah I'm not worried I bought too many.

Yeah. Doesnt make a whole lotta sense if you think about it, but i'll take it I wanna expand that at least enough so I can carry high quantities of the most commonly used stuff, like carbon, ferrite dust, cobalt, copper, etc all the shit you need to craft the essential stuff.

Hell just to do a raid on a nest of whispering eggs (like I've just done again ) You need about 500 carbon to build enough walls to enclose at least 3 of those clusters.

Welp, I've got a freighter again. Wasn't looking for one. But I'd just upgraded my photon canons w/ an S class module, so I needed something to test their effectiveness out on, and freighter was being attacked. I suppose eventually this thing will come in handy.

I really need a new starship. I've been on the lookout, but i havent really found "the one" yet. I've accumulated about 10 million units now. But most of the ships im interested in are like 30-40 million.

There are some advantages to owning a freighter. Its powered by the same warp cells that power your starship, so whenever you feel like warping to a new solar system, just dock with your freighter and warp with that. AND it seems it can warp to red and green galaxies without any additional modifications like your starship needs w/ the cadmium an emeril warp drives. PLUS you can own multiple starships and dock them in your freighter. This means you pay a little bit more for starships since you dont get the trade in credits, but you dont have to give up your current ships that you've built up for new ones.

Then there's the frigates...... I had 1 frigate. I sent it out on 3 missions. On 2 of them they sustained mission critical damage, and i opted to bring them home so i could repair the damage. On the third consecutive time I said screw you and told them to finish the mission. They sent back some good stuff, but were destroyed in the process. I didnt care, but I had no more frigates to send on missions. But eventually another one attached itself to my crew. I never recruited it. I dont know where it came from. But whatever. I'll send them to their death if i have to.

Im still just trying to upgrade my suit slots and try to find a blueprint for the cryo pumps. I've gotten blueprints for building a stasis chamber, which goes for 18 million units....but the ingredients for building this device is literally out of this world.

i'll just continue on. I'm having a really hard time finding a planet that doesn't try and immediately kill me as soon as i get out of my ship.

Becareful with frigates right now. Unless they updated it, there was a game breaking glitch that starts overwritting your save with gibberish until it finally shits the bed and you lose everything after you send out your first frigate on a mission. Seems hit or miss but just an fyi

Soooo, someone discovered that when you're harvesting whispering eggs, if you stand on TOP of an egg, you wont get attacked. I'm trying it now. It DOES work, but they can still bump you off, and then its a mad scramble to get back on top of one before they tear you to shreds. Plus you really can't get an angle on some of the eggs in the cluster when you're right on top of them. I still like the wall method. Takes a little longer, and uses a ton of carbon, but you can harvest so many eggs that way. And do it safely.

You can also put out a signal booster in the nest, jump on top of it and then get the eggs from on top of the booster.

Ive never really found a planet I'd like to "settle" on. But there is one in this Gek system im in right now thats pretty close. It is a radioactive planet, but its actually pretty mild, and there are some nasty storms, but they don't spring up every 30 seconds and last for 10 minutes like most of the other planets I've been on. But the real deal is that there's resources EVERYWHERE. Carbon, sodium, ferrite, oxygen, cobalt, you can find it everywhere. PLus this planet seems to be littered with drop pods and manufacturing facilities. Which has been my main focus at the moment. At the very least I think I may build a shack on this planet and drop a transportation portal next to it so I can come back if i ever have to. The more I explore it, the more it really is starting to feel like home. Which is something I never thought I'd feel

Some might not find this exciting, but I think its awesome Apparently if you have a frigate docked near a planet, you can jump off of it and get pulled into the planets atmosphere. And LAND on the planet. But you need LOTS of oxygen stored up to keep your life support system going.

I just wanna know if once you land, you can summon your ship back from outerspace or if you're just now stranded on the planet.
