Yep, I'll be there Friday setting up IT equipment and then next week for the actual show.

Any kind of cnc, drill, tap, machine you can imagine should be at this show. Held every 2 years. It fills every every building of mc cormick place.

it is a big deal to those people in the industry. before my time i was told that one vendor had a cage with tigers in it at the show to attract people to visit their booth. lots of models there as well.

it is also very neat seeing big Mitsubishi machines on display. the machines that make the enging blocks for the big CAT trucks and such.

what brand of machines do you use?

None of them. We have one fadal and 2 old hurcos. I don't know how to run either of them. If I have to make something I use the Bridgeport. We machine when needed

We're Building a 3D-printed, Electric Car!

With our partner Local Motors, we're building another car in AMT's Emerging Technology Center. The body of the car will be printed on a large-scale additive machine with the help of Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Cincinnatti Inc. Then, it will be assembled and fitted with an electric engine. This is a must-see! The reveal of the finished car will be on Saturday morning.

everyone in the office goes at least one day. well 1/2 a day. they take us in groups of 3-4 and then out to lunch.

There was a guy who used a 3d printer who made a ar-15. I saw the guy on a special about the ar-15. It was functional and worked quite well.
