three years or so ago I cashed a couple of checks at tcf on Ashland and Roosevelt for just under 10k. the lady was in shock that I didn't want it counted. they took me in another room and counted it... then they escorted me to my car like I was royalty. lol.

i have a very good friend who works for one of the biggest banks in chicagoland area in security. he says they rotate which bank in "the zone" keeps 500k on hand. most of them keep less than 100k cash he says.

Correct. They typically order in advance what they think they will need on hand for the day or week.

It actually scares me sometimes what I know about ATMs, Banks and CIT. lol.

A huh. Well I worked second line atm for ncr for a few years so I know a thing or two about atms. Second line is hardware/software tech. I worked on everything from the outdoor drive ups to the inside walk ups. I love to hear about what people think they "know" about banking and atms when most of those people were just tellers lol. Not saying you were, but I've heard so much hear - say Bullshit from people, I could write a book about it.
