So far all signs point to this being a PS3 release. For one you have that high ranking sony exec who flat out said a couple months ago about how many great games were coming out on ps3 this year, then goes on to say "the last of us, beyond, GT6.." and made no efforts to correct himself after it slipped. Secondly, gt6 has been in development since 2010, well before any PS4 dev kits would have been around. And lastly, the "big" racing game sony was touting for the PS4 was drive club. Theres no way they'd pit 2 similiar racing games against each other at a console launch. The GT series is Sonys best selling franchise, and even tho this console generation is coming to an end, when you think about how many PS3's are in homes in the world right now, GT6 would just be money in the bank for sony. And I'm fine w/ that. At least I'll be able to get a little more use out of my wheel.

GT3 is still my favorite of the franchise hands down. I got so much mileage out of that game. If I wasn't competing in organized race series on GT Planet I was creating my own hybrid abominations messing w/ the games code via gameshark. You could create any kinda car you could think of. Put any engine/suspension/tires/turbo/whatever into any car you want, create insane grip levels and hp. It was fantastic.
