You have to connect those to all the coil packs... was a pain in the DICK to do on 99-04 due to the limited space on the col covers SMASHING them down.

Ha I noticed that. Pulled one of the covers to check plugs. And was like hrmm well wtf. Nicely tie wrapped though.

MSD sells a Launch Control stand-alone for the modular motor if you didn't already know.

Dasfinc I installed the ProCal about a month ago, along with the "Power Pack" on my car (K+N, GT500 Mufflers), and I think its how it should have come from the factory hands-down.

cosm3os I installed the Track Cal (I have an early 14) a few months ago. Bought it primarily for the improved throttle response. It does that in spades, although now I'm seeing why that might be more suited to "track" as it get's alittle choppy.

Second reason for installing was the lopey idle. I've got Boss sidepipes and GT500 mufflers. I wasn't expecting much because Ford wants to keep it cat-friendly, but holy crap is it awesome! I like that I can turn it off, cause when it's raining, I have the windows up and all you get is the shaking!

The power gain is minimal, but it already has enough to scare me. Probably never use the pit speed and launch control.

Some guys setup the same map on slots 1-3 with the only difference being slightly varied launch control settings for different conditions. And you can do other things like boost levels as well.

Would be an interesting feature. "Lope on the fly"
No it doesnt. This track key is supported because of the dual path instrument cluster. There was a big tech discussion on mustang source about it explaining how it works, but I know its all based from the cluster.

TCG Member 5219 First videos and impressions of GT Track Key coming in. Looks and sounds very cool, and still retains factory warranty.

Dat lope.

Thirdgen89GTA Need this for Focus ST w/increased boost levels.

The PCM is horrible, and often when you command WOT, the throttle blade may only open to 70% to keep the 270lb/ft torque rating.

IMPORTANT UPDATE ON THE GT TRACK KEY

I just spoke with Ford Racing. The gentlemen I spoke to said the 7/1/14 date is not correct. It will work on late model 2013 and all 2014 GTs with manual transmissions.

It's function (ability to work) is related to the updated instrument cluster.

A release date is not clear at this point, as it is in development. He would not give me a date.

The price should be the same as the Track Key for the Boss 302...which is $302

WooHoo I'm in!!!

Feel free to call for more info 800.367.3788, choose option two for the Ford Racing department.

This is basically what all the boss owners have done. No need for the regular key. And with the boss, so how it make the exhaust so much deeper. Not just the lopey idle.

Chester Copperpot Don't start that debate. People always use that as a way to justify beating the piss out of a modded engine and have the manufacturer on the hook for your(not you) abuse.

If they install it, there is the limited warranty. If you over-rev it, forgot fucking oil, etc, that's all on you. If they determine that something they caused, IE THEIR tune was faulty, excessive detonation using proper fuel, etc, of course they'll warranty it.

Magnusson-Moss is not a catch all. It's like the that retard cuts his springs and complains to the manufacturer why the struts are now fucked and expects them to warranty it.
11-14-2013 12:44 PM
Dasfinc "Magnuson-Moss" act for those interested.

That's why TracKey is so attractive to me, Keep the warranty with a two-step launch
11-14-2013 12:23 PM
Pressure Ratio That is correct. The hard part is Ford can deny the claim. Then you have to sue them. Cost and effort versus cost to repair something may not be worth it. Plus think of the hassle.

I think the tunes are sorted out enough now that there is a small chance of it causing an issue. But buyer beware for sure.

The ProCal was nice but no where near as good as the AED tune I have. That tune idles better than stock, has increased throttle response and makes amazing power all over the rpm range. I have had my car in three times for issues. Two times were rear end issues. They fixed it under warranty and didn't say anything. I think the only time you would have an issue with an aftermarket tune is if you damage the motor (like burn a piston) Ford may request the ECU for inspection. But people have even had motors replaced with aftermarket tunes. Every owner will have to look at the risk versus the reward and decide what is best for them.
I took my car into Willowbrook Ford with my Vortech and they fixed warranty issues. The law is actually on the consumer's side in warranty issues. The dealer/MFG needs to prove that the aftermarket tune was the direct cause of the issue, in your case a motor popping. Even if they donít cover it, my understanding that they canít void your entire warranty meaning if you pop you motor and run into a suspension issue, they still have to fix the suspension issue if the car is under warranty.

This to me seems like a pointless mod as aftermarket tunes are about the same cost and offer much more performance benefits.
