ilikemtb999 I don’t think this thing has much sound deadening. Was going to lay some down at some point. Have a bunch of leftover from the Buick.

cmntmxr57 I like it on the GTO also. Not on a daily.

IDAFC21 I like the sweatshop sewing machine factory that lives under my hood.

cmntmxr57 I just don't want to listen to the clacking of valvetrain.

Is this what your manifolds look like? Not sure of the measurements, but they don't look to flow the greatest.

Honestly haven’t looked but pretty sure. I saw pictures of those horrid flex pipes. Really just seems like a waste to add a cam with 50whp potential and then leave a bunch on the table.

IDAFC21 Ew.

IDAFC21 I like everything that's being discussed here.

ilikemtb999 I went whiteline strut mounts. My struts look relatively new so going to stick with those and then I’ve got eibach springs.

What made me want headers is seeing a picture of the flange right off the manifolds. Maybe yours is different but it’s 1 7/8” inner diameter.
03-16-2019 11:23 PM
cmntmxr57 I thought about doing headers, but then said "naw... I gotta keep it somewhat civilized..."

But I was having these thoughts on the can one morning.

Anyway, I was planning on doing the Caprice PPV strut package that Pace Performance has. However, they only have the struts/shock and the bearing. No mounts at all (they don't even have them). So I went and looked up parts at Rock Auto and they have the AC Delco FE2 stuff cheaper than the Pace kit and I am pairing it with the Moog mounts which include the bearing. 1 stop shopping.

ilikemtb999 Nope. Cam, Springs, Trunnion upgrade and maaaaybe headers. Obviously all the other shit that goes along with it. Thinking the TSP LS3 stage 1 cam
03-16-2019 10:31 PM
cmntmxr57 You doing any head work? I'm planning on leaving them alone.

I’ve got a camshaft (and other bits) sitting on the shelf for the Tahoe. I think I picked out a cam for the caprice but still looking around.

cmntmxr57 Bonus...

ilikemtb999 Well my fan controller ohmíd out bad (thanks again @deezus) and a new one didnít fix the issue so I started the fun task of tracing wires. Ended up finding this:

So the ecm wire that commands the fan and the hood latch wire were broken and no clue what the yellow one is. Spliced in new wiring and covered it all in wire loom. The clip that holds the plug on the frame rail was broken. I zip tied it back in place.

Now my remote start works again!

ilikemtb999 It’s funny that the Middle East Guy’s swap American stuff over like the terrible door handles.
