Well, since I am on a roll today I might as well start a build thread for this girl too... This is a massive work in progress.
This is my 1992 Mustang convertible. I call it the barbie car because everyone tells me only chicks drive convertible Mustangs.
The car as it sits right now is pretty well modded, here is it's list:
• 302 roller motor
• Edelbrock Aluminum Heads
• Aluminum 1.6 roller rockers
• TFS Stage 2 Camshaft
• TFS upper and lower intake manifold with 1” phenolic spacer
• Edelbrock throttle body
• Hooker long tube headers
• X-pipe
• Flowmaster 2 chamber exhaust
• Cold air intake
• Electric fan conversion
• 3:73 gears
• B&M short throw shifter
Here are some pictures of how she sits now:
First thing I picked up were some pretty dirty Bullitt's from a member on CMC. They need some love, but the price was right and I love the classic look of the wheels:
They have 275's in front and 315's on the rear, which is what I plan to keep on them. I was amazed at JUST how wide 315's really are, haha:
Found a nice place to store the wheels for the winter.... in my laundry room!
Got some Summit racing lowering springs for really cheap while I save up money to get real springs and coilovers:
And 5 lug swap rotors for the front end, along with calipers and pads that work along with stainless brake lines (for cheap, too!):
Then I got my SCT 4 position chip so I can run a tiny shot on some alcohol:
And got the kit for my tiny shot:
Got hardened 5 lug axles and lower control arms as well:
And, the only actual WORK I have got done thus far is working out some of the curb rash on one of the front wheels:
I also got a new fuel tank so I could fab up a sump setup on it:
Sump set up mocked up out of cardboard:
Also got my new sticky rear tires:
Future plans for the car are just to work on the suspension and chassis this year. First things first, I need some subframe connectors. This convertible flex I have goin on is ANNOYING! I would also like to get a spool for the rear with some 33 spline axles. Would also like an anti-roll bar, coilovers, and adjustable upper control arms. Will be getting IC adjusters from Team Z while I am back there, too, as well as a disc brake conversion. For the front end I plan on getting RaceCraft 2" drop spindles, Team Z or RaceCraft K member set up for a motor plate, and a Mid plate for the trans.
Hope to see you guys at Byron this year, don't be afraid to grab a lane, I promise I'm slow
