Aside from another radiator flush to remove more old Dexcool gunk, and refill again with more green, my winterizing is pretty much complete.

In the last week, projector retrofitted headlights have been added for increased vision. Now, in the last two days I've plasti dip'd my factory wheels to hide curb rash and make them look refinished, then mounted and balanced them on Bridgestone Blizzaks. Yes, I know I did that backwards, and I did peel off some of the plasti dip when I mounted the tires, but a little touch up took care of that. They are going to be my winter wheels from now on so I can't see justifying paying that much when they'll be covered in snow anyway. I'd say they look pretty damn good for $6 a can/2 cans over $500+ for powdercoating. Let me know what ya think..

 I've had my NOT OEM 2 since 08 and just never wanted it without the number and pay that much more a year, I forget the difference, but its fine with me that hes got the "original plate", just as long as he doesn't say he had it first :s00ls:

car looks great, that plasti-dip sure is awesome stuff

I assume there is no rush on my enkei rims now? I know you wanted them so you could send these out for coating

I've never claimed I had it first, in fact I'm very happy to tell people I know, about your car who don't think much of 3800s, since it is very 'NOT OEM' in comparison to my junk.

Yes, I've decided to get a set of O.Z. Ultraleggera's for my summer wheel set up. I am still interested in those ARP wheel studs though.

car USED to be a 12 sec car :( demodded and needed a reliable d.d..

I understand, I would do the same thing in your situation.
De-modded a rocker car or a cam'd car?

Wheel de-greaser on the rim, followed by dish soap and wash.
One coat of plasti dip evenly around.
Let dry for 30 minutes, accelerated process with heat gun to remove bubbling and spotting.
I did about three coats, used up all of two cans.
Mounted Blizzaks on wheels, peeling off some plasti dip in the process.
Touch up on lip peel.
Let dry, and mount.

It really is not that difficult. Believe it or not, I was just asking your exact question to someone else two days ago. I just took a ride to Home Depot and dove in from there.

I really like those wheels in black

:fy:

Can you plasti dip a set of nice wheels to just change the color and not worry about messing the original finish up? As in if two months later I want to go back I can just peel it off without damage.

Yes, it is just rubber after all. Your wheels are wrapped in rubber, why can't the rim finish be? :s00ls:
