What's up guys. I picked up some new wheels and tires for my s10 yesterday. They wouldn't be my first choice, but I got a killer deal on them. I think they look way better than the C5 wagon wheels I used to have, and these ride a lot nicer too.

what engine choice are you going with?

4.8/4l60e. Its going to be pretty mild, running a stock ls1 cam, ls1 intake, f-body manifolds, and a speed inc tune. Should rip pretty good.

I almost bought your 4.8, but I found this 07 4.8 w/ 110k miles for $200 right down the street from me. I may still buy yours if this one ends up being junk lol.

sweet, well lmk. No one seems to be interested in it and I really need to move it :tear:

That setup should do great in that thing, the 4.8 moved my truck out well in my truck but will do even better in yours. Also put in 3.73 gears, they'll do great in there ;)

Yea didn't it put your truck in the low 15's with minimal mods? I think with the bigger Ls1 cam and a truck that weighs 2000# less, I should be deep 14's maybe even high 13's.

I swapped a 3.73 into last summer

With just headers, ORY, a drop-in magnaflow muffler, and a tune I did 15.86 @ 86mph but I'm 5100#'s too.

look into it, but an LS6 cam may work well too. I know they do well in 5.3's, and you'll gain huge in the top end

01 LS6, 385hp cam 204/211 .525/.525 116 lsa
02-04 LS6, 405hp cam 204/218 .555/.551 117.5 lsa

98-00 f-body cam 198/209 .500/.500 119.5 lsa
01-02 f-body cam 196/207 .467/.479 116 lsa

00-04 4.8 cam 191/190 .457/.466 114 lsa

01-04 LQ4/9 cam 196/207 .467/.479 116 lsa

the corvette's cam's had a slightly higher duration

just food for thought ;)

I also have a BRAND NEW LQ4 cam if you have a used one or are sticking with that cam choice. The earlier model f-bodies had the bigger cam though.

just curious, which one do you have?

Wow I just reread this, my cam sucks! Not even worth taking the time to install it. I am gonna look for something different. Thanks for the info

I don't believe the salad shooters came in different directions

Np tony, I don't think you'd of been happy with a stock cam ;) I mean it would've still ran good but the ls6 will give it more life. The info came from an lsx performance book I bought a while back

hey, another bit of info for your build. Look into a Trailblazer torque converter, the ones w/the Inline 5 I believe. It stalls slightly higher than stock while maintaining stock drivability.

sorry, I've done a lot of research into swaps over the past years ;) lol
