Picked these up for pennies from a ‘13 zl1. Not long tubes but should be a decent improvement. The manifolds are the same design but are cast stainless (supposedly) and it ditches the bottle neck of the stock flex pieces

I will be running all of those meows pictured. We have actual emissions here, I'm exempt for a few years still but I’m not looking to pollute the earth more than I have to.

Will get these mounted hopefully next week. In the middle of replacing my rear wheel bearings and it’s being a bitch. I obtained a set of knuckles but destroyed the backing plate attempting removal of the hub and bearing so just going to order a new set of backing plates. Then an alignment and THEN tires.

They’re General g-max rs’s in stock size. Should be good enough for the nice months.

Stock has sooooo many mufflers. I think 7 total? And it’s 2.25 and necks down to 1 -7/8” between two sets of mufflers. This is 2.5” the whole way.

The Caprice has more mufflers/resonators than even the G8...

Is that also from a Camaro?

From my understanding, the additional resonators were to offset NVH from the differing resonance from the DOD.

There was a guy here, probably a year or 2 ago, that deleted a bunch of the mufflers on his Caprice, and had all sorts of drone issues when the DOD kicked on.

Everything in there helps, but the core of the NVH quelling comes from the monster mufflers.

I removed those for those Solo Axlebacks, and listening to the DOD go off every time you breath on the throttle is annoying as fuck now.

I’m waiting for my base tune from black bear. Was putting it off because I’ve been waiting for this guy to get a 3.45 gear car in and they’ve all been 3.27 cars. Basically once I get the tune I’ll email and ask for an update for new gears so I don’t have to wait forever.

Yeah, disable DOD, problem solved, seems like all the drone issues are more associated when running on 4 cylinder mode.

In due time, but I have other things on my plate first.

My issue in 4 cylinder mode isn't so much a drone. It sounds more like a bad wheel bearing or something out of round, to be honest and it sounded like that stock exhaust or not.

With the axle-backs when you breath on the throttle, you get a surging like sound in the exhaust note, then back to normal.

Default So I ditched the Tahoe for a Caprice

While letting my oil drain I figured I’d use some scrap I had laying around from the seat swap in the cucv to whip up a new center floor cross brace. Didn’t take a picture after grinding those corners at an angle and then painting it.

And where it goes (smack dab in the middle of the car between the doors)
