I'm renting one of these on an excursion in Mexico.
My son did it last year and said they are pretty relaxed on how hard you drive them.

I always wondered how good those excursions would be. Lets us know how it goes. I have a wedding in Punta Cana, wouldn't mind tearing up someone elses machine for once..

Kinda cool but not my taste. Although, some guys might dig that. A few machines always have issues over heating when we get into some nasty mud.

Innercooler in front of the radiator FTW.

i think can am quality/fit/finish is way better. i think i mentioned that elsewhere as well but- to me it seems like the can am's are a foreign car- japanese/german/whatever.

extremely quality built, a lot of attention to detail, much better fit and finish...

and the polaris's's's are a domestic gm/ferd offering.

little shit- like there are tiedowns in the bed of my new one, and they are already oxidized/rusting. i wanted them replaced when i was picking it up.. and they were like it just happens.. .and sure as shit i walked around to like 5 others and they all had it.

i just removed them for now. ill paint them or something. didn't bug me much... or something as silly as the doors... ill take a pic but the doors don't line up "perfectly" like when you look down the side of the car it looks like the rears are slightly ajar, but again... that's how they all are/were.

the can am fit and finish felt like a car basically. the polaris feels like an offroad toy. which is fine if that's what you're expecting.

it seems like a lot of people dismiss polaris's quality/fit-finish expectations because most people just buy these things and beat the absolute FUCK out of them, which if that's what you're looking for, it's great.

ive heard though that this general is much easier to work on than the can am offerings... whether that matters or not to you is up to you of course.

another thing that bugs me with the polaris is the shifter... it's straight forward and back basically but the "gears" are in never never land it almost feels sometimes... just slam it into where you think the gear should be and go for it.

the can am i had you had to go sideways and forward or backward to shift up or down

the welds on the polaris roll cage don't look too super either... the side bars just seem like just random box tubing painted.

the can am roll cage looked/felt much better...

i dunno. lots of ramblings, but the can am definitely feels more quality.

No, your explanation of Polaris is spot on. Can-am is def higher quality. I slam Polaris all the time for their crappy ball joints/wheel bearings etc. Polaris nut swingers hate it.

My buddies 17 rzr turbo is so smooth and nice. Gear selection change is awesome. no rattles. Then I jump in my 16 turbo and its like a box of bolts thats gonna fall apart...

unreasonable as it may sound, but for me the biggest thing on why i went polaris was that the can am commander version of what i have- to me- is i think the 2018's were ugly.

the 2019's aren't but it's tough to find a crazy deal on them i came to find...

2019 limited looks sick.

oh and well my wife wanted a "white one" and for this all to happen, a little playing to keep her happy was necessary.

another thing though i remembered- the can am has/had projectors that i had... this one just has normal housings and normal halogen bulbs... like i said just little stuff.

the can am dump bed is more well thought out... you can have a locking glove box in the can am, and a locking lower bed in the can am.. stuff you can't in the polaris as far as i know.

Whats the difference between Deluxe/Premium/Normal General models? I could never get a straight answer on that.

Have you checked out the Ranger Northstar... factory cab enclose, heat AND AC!

as far as i know, there's the two levels of general 4's now- i know the 2 seaters have those three levels but i dont know them that well.

in regards to the 4 seaters... the higher end one which i dont have, comes with the roof that i added, but with a liner (which i didn't opt for, i couldn't reason a roof liner in a plastic thing)

the ride command has the factory ride command setup that is that whole interface with front and rear cameras, stereo, bs like that.

also i dont love how it looks.

mine comes with a winch from the factory which i liked, but not much else. i mean it has interior lighting by my feet which is cute.. and the doors of course.

it does have fox reservoir shocks from the factory, which other models don't/didn't.

i think mine is technically a premium now that im reading more- but again, no model lower than that in 4 seater.

in 2 seater land... so "normal" version vs premium version... you gain this with premium:

Quote:
Premium Features:

Premium Paint and Graphics Package
Polaris HD 4,500 lb. Winch
Sport Low Profile Front Bumper
Maxxis Coronado Tires
all things mine has...

then premium limited has:

Quote:
Limited Edition Features:

Polaris HD 4,500 lb. Winch
Painted Sport Low Profile Front Bumper
Painted Rock Sliders
then ride command 2 seater:

Quote:
FOX® 2.0 Podium QS3 Shocks
Poly Sport Roof
Sport Low Profile Front Bumper
4,500 Polaris® HD Winch
MTX® Premium Soundbar
Bluetooth® Connectivity

That's all good to hear. I have always been told if you buy a Polaris, buy new and plan to change machines in 5-7 years. I assumed Can-Am was the same. I'm a little hesitant to buy any thing used though. Even Honda's. People beat the shit of their off-road stuff. Just a 78 HP SxS is very tempting at $7-8K.

What's semi appealing about these is the increased safety of being a cager. Could never sell the quads though.

It's the future of the sport. Sport quads are all but dead and I see sport utilities getting the same fate. Quads will be work oriented and all the tech will be going to SxS'. I just need to decide when to jump and at what cost.

My quads are already turning into paper weights. I won't regroup with a sxs.

Sports quads are def a dying breed. I was out @ Silver Lake Dunes with a few friends and friends of friends couple years back. Older guy is telling me how much aluminum he pulled from his cylinder head when he did a Big Bore kit. yada yada yada...I'm like dude, I just click a few buttons on my tuner and dump some octane booster in the gas tank. Plus 40HP..whats up.
