Last weekend I grabbed the car out of storage and drove it like 3 miles to the shop.

The next morning...

Fuuuuuck. I didn't get lucky where it was a loose connection or bad o-ring. The passenger side radiator had sprung a leak. So new radiator and 3 hoses and its back together.

Also installed were the GT2 clutch assist spring. I still have to install the shifter. Waiting to install that when I do the radio. Since the console and half the dash above the console has to come out I figure do them at the same time.

I have new Michelin PS4, in the correct sizes, on the way as well. Since the tires on the car are 4+ years old, one has a patch, and the rears are the 295 not the correct 305.

When I was looking for a car one of the items on the list of options I wanted was the Sport Adaptive seats. These are the seats with shoulder support and adjustable side bolsters on the seat back and bottom. But I ended up finding the color car I wanted and they did t have the seats. Fortunately, I got really lucky and got a very good deal on a set. They are out of A 2010 GT3. The car has had race seats most of it's 25K miles. So these are very low mileage seats. They have Alcantara inserts, painted back, memory position and are heated as well. The guy is also giving me the factory optional fire extinguisher and mount for the seats. They are out of a 997.2 versus my 997.1. So I am praying it is plug and play. Otherwise, I'll have to re-pin the connector to get them to function properly. I had a buddy in New York go check them out of me. He said the condition of the seats look way better than in the pictures. So he is going on Wednesday to go brag them for me.

Pics from the seller.

Also, they recommend cleaning the ducts in the bumper to the radiators for a reason. Thia was just one side. The passenger side had two cigarette butts and some rocks in it as well. I'm debating putting mesh in the bumper openings to help with this. Pulling the bumper isn't that hard. I just think less debris might mean less chance of damage and wet leaves packed up against the radiator. That can't be good for it.

I'm thinking it would be smart. I can't imagine it would hinder air flow into the 3 radiators that bad.

So many dollars.

I think you can get the side radiators online for like $640 each from Porsche.

I think Hella makes the OEM rads for the 997. They are available from RockAuto for under $300/each. Just won't have a Porsche sticker on it. In case you need to do another one in the future.

On my car the stock ones are made by AKG and it's a similar price discrepancy to the Porsche OEMs that are made by AKG and have a Porsche sticker, lol. I had the same side spring a small leak a couple years ago. Definitely caused by leaves and debris. Once I had bumper off I noticed the other two had already been previous replaced as they had date codes of 2010 and 2013.

Thanks @Vogz I saw those didn't find much about them when I searched the forums. So with the discount, the OE wasn't that bad. But if I have issues in the future I'll give Hella a try.

Hearing you had a similar issue makes me think the mesh for the openings really is a good idea. That will be a good over the summer project.

Since I last pulled the front bumper 2 seasons ago. I have almost no debris built up. I think it takes years to become a problem.

I am sure it depends on use as well. I don't know how long it has been since mine was cleaned. But I also took a couple of trips out west last fall when leaves were everywhere. So I guess we will see what happens when I clean them come winter.

Also, just a FYI, the radiator from Porsche was an AKG unit. AKG stamped right in the tank. So if Hella did make them originally for the 997 the supplier of them for Porsche now is AKG.

That is why I wanted a muted grey versus a "Look at me" red. haha

I am not interested in women that want money from me. So again, the car won't help in the female department. lol
