Default Frank's ever-changing vehicles thread.

It's been a while since I've posted anything car related. Been busy at work in life itself, but, I've got some time again and missed boring y'all with my dumb vehicular purchasing.

Most of you have seen this truck posted. I bought it as an auction flip, but, after finding rust in the doors, rockers and tailgate on my F350 I decided it was time to go. Sold it private party for a very very strong number and decided to keep the dodge until I order my next new truck.

2008 Dodge Ram 3500 HD. 6.7 Cummins, A6 trans with tap-shift and exhaust brake, 4x4, DRW.

Tinted windows, cut the racking off, added a sport grille, rebuilt front end (ball joints, wheel bearings, brakes, axle joints, etc.) and have been driving the shit out of it. I've put roughly 7,500 miles on it in the two months I've owned it running auctions and a recent Colorado trip.

How I got it.

Rack Removal

Grille and tint

Everything was DIY, even the tint. Just elbow grease and some time.

Next is a 2002 Sierra 2500 HD. Just a plow truck. New brake/fuel lines, manifolds, tires. Just a damn good running not pretty work truck. Bought at auction in Michigan and sourced a used plow and truck side locally on CL. Put it together in an evening, only plowed once so far

And I snagged this last night for when I don't feel like driving a 1-ton dually lol. I'm doing a fair amount of proxibidding on auctions now, but like to go inspect items beforehand. Since there's no chance of me taking anything home that day having a 50mpg car is kinda nice.

As for the Formula and El Malo. El Malo is having some more bodywork addressed as we speak, and the frame is currently getting coated. That'll be coming together slowly as always, but at least there's some progress. The Formula turned into a bigger can of worms. Unbalanced clutch took out main bearings so the engine is out and apart currently lol. Maybe by 2020 I'll have a running project.

Good. With ZX gone, we need tales of unfathomably too-good-to-be true flips.

I like that GMC... Looks like a real early Ultra-Mount with those headlights. Mine had the same and I went to the nighthawk's.

Aftermarket clutch was installed prior to me buying it, it was the main reason it was so cheap. As I tore further and further into it it turned out that the clutch being out of balance and driven for some time wore through the rear two main bearings pretty badly. Instead of rebuilding the stock engine, I'm building an LQ4.

Yeah except I've got the books to prove profit lol. I paid $8,000 for a 2008 4x4 Cummins dually from a clean climate. I had it listed for $17,500 and had $14,000+ offers. If that isn't profit I'm in the wrong business.

I suspected it was the issue when I ran the car with the clutch on (vibration) and removed (none)

Machine shop confirmed it, and judging by the shoddy work (stripped bolts, etc) they didnít know wtf they were doing along the way.

Yep! Iíve still got the truck, itís away in storage. The issue Iím having with that project is space. Once I start I need to devote three spaces at the house/garage until itís damn near finished.

You would feel it. It was a very noticeable vibration at any RPM, like, 100g truck wheel weights hammered on in the wrong spots bad.

It's been starting great sans the one day, and that ended up being loose terminals lol.

EGR Delete is in for the Cummins. It was unplugged when I got it along with the delete/tune but it's starting to leak, so, good excuse for a legitimate delete and then I can finally install my egt probe

It's not. I hate the look of the '19 RAM 1500's and don't want to buy an 18 a year before it's the old body style lmao.
